Quick lady pipe review and excellent service from centraltrade/royalsmokers

Well trog, I guess I would have to agree and disagree with you. I do see a lot of people on here who "are just looking for the next new toy to buy" but hey, if they have the money and that's what they want to do, no skin off my nose, right? Maybe I would "sample the wares" more if I had the money too...dunno.

Everything I own is penstyle....and I am moving toward regular batts rather than the ecig batts (hate 'em!). But I have always had an interest in the pipe....from day one. I don't know....just something about it.

So what deterred me from buying it?
1) The whole atomizer replacement deal....as in either buy a new one or pay $30 for a new atomizer
2) Kate said she felt it was too heavy for comfort (for her)
3) After watching Leaford's video review, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle with getting the batteries out

True, I don't know how long it would last with daily use but I have a usb manual switch pen that I use most of the time at home, and a stand alone pen that I use in public. The pipe really would not be used in a constant fashion....as in all day, every day (I don't know a product that is....most users do seem to have at least one other device they switch up with).

So my concern is a product that works (of course), runs on regular batteries, and I don't have to jump through hoops to change any parts or maintain it. Actually, just as I have wanted a screwdriver for those reasons, so would I be interested in a pipe if those conditions were met.

So this lady pipe does seem appropriate for what I need it for....that is why I am willing to try it but honestly, if I just wanted to use it as a "novelty", or just to add it to my collection, would it really make a difference?

I do see what you are saying...the devices were meant for a purpose...but just as people restore antique cars that they may never drive...or whatever other "hobby" they might have....so is the ecig going to become a collector's item. Just the nature of the beast, I guess.

Oh, I forgot to add....I do think reviews serve a purpose. For example....there were 2 new devices I had contemplated. With the first one, it sounded good but ultimately, the user really could not convince me (personally) that the product was better than what I was using. I did base this on his reviews.

A second item I was interested in...well, from what other members seem to be saying.....sounds like it has too many problems for me.

Parked did a review on the Dura today. I'm not really interested in that style but it was very interesting. I agree that follow ups are needed to see how things are really coming along over time but how else can someone see if this might be a worthwhile investment without buying everything that comes out? I think the reviews, if followed up, do tend to help potential customers make decisions on what might be right for them.

have a local mechanic retiree saw off the end and solder on a cheap 901 atomizer for a beer or two as a well-deserved reward..

I don't understand your obsession with bashing something someone on the boards makes in his spare time. Trog told everyone he got the torch from deal xtreme for the screwdriver. You make it sound like he lied about inventing some new gadget that he forged from steel in a factory, but he told us what it is and what goes into it. If you don't want to buy it, no ones forcing anyone to.

Yeah, I don't get it either Frankie. I am so happy with my SD it's ridiculous. All my other devices, including USB passthroughs, are relegated to being solely emergency backups. Sure, if I was handy and had the right tools and knowledge like Madog and Bastage and Apostle and Yohan and so many others I could have made my own better device, but for someone like me the SD is literally a lifesaver (I was still smoking on and off because of battery life problems with my typical penstyle "starter kit", wholly inadequate with only two puny batteries, and could only totally quit once I had the SD).

So expensive as it is, it was absotlutely worth it to me. And compared with even some Janty models, not to mention other rip-off brands, its not even that expensive.

I have no problem with his spare time activities. Not even with his business activities. Fools and their money will be parted with or without him, if he cashes them in, it´s their problem. I just perceive this dirty little trend: Every time a really nice new device comes up, people talk about it for a while and then he comes bashing it right and left hinting the only solution still is the overprized flashlight mod. Especially for devices with cheap or big batteries that are perceived as a threat to the said mod. I have not read anything about him saying it was a sawn off flashlight. It sells as an e-cig, even with the claim it is not produced in China. But that is irrelevant to this thread. What is relevant is the fact that any other vendor coming to e-pipe thread with strong hints that we should really buy a (e.g.) EVO instead would be banned presto-pronto.

I love all the mods. They are inspiring. But if Madog came to an e-pipe thread telling us the e-pipe is a piece of junk and we need the really reliable thing that simply works, e.g. his Magnum sold for 3 or 4 times the price of the pipe I would do the same as now. Even though I love the idea of him selling his mods, because they are lovely, and sincerely hope he will start doing it. Understood?

the SD is device that works.. it expensive because its hand worked.. there is quite a lot of work (and thought) goes into making it what it is..

people buy it because of what it is.. some people hate it because of what it is.. i have been very honest (too honest) about how its made and why its made the way it is..

frankie because of his lack of knowledge thinks its a rip off.. others have their own business reasons for trying to knock it.. forums are a perfect medium for doing this..

the SD is what it is... so far its sold to about fifteen different countries.. more than any other device i am quite sure..

today i just shipped two to Germany.. one to Greece.. one to Denmark and one to Portugal..

we dont sell many because we cant make many.. you want one you buy one.. if not there are loads of other choices..

my question is: One of the angles of attack was that the pipe guarantees certain arrest in some states because it looks as a crack pipe. I tried to compare it with my bruyeres, and they are somehow bigger indeed, but I always had problems with pipe smoke stinging too much and selected longer pipes as a result when I was buying them because longer ones seemed to have cooler smoke. I was never a very experienced pipe smokers anyway. So, does any of you ex or not-ex pipe smokers have a normal, not crack or THC pipe like this?

I have been wondering for a while about getting an E-Pipe. I actually really like this one. I love the size, and the compatibility to my penstyle atomizers. I think I'll have to get me one of these

to be honest Frankie if you haven't tried the SD then you really have no room to comment on it. That's like saying you don't like certain food without even tasting it.

For the price it's a good deal imho. Considering what it ships with , the craftsmanship involved in making it and the fact that every one of them is hand assembled and tested...every unit is tested..you cant say that for big brand production line cr*p, they will probably test one unit in every 300 made. I was in manufacturing/engineering for 12 years so i know a thing or two about it . Even smilin' says his works fine for the first few minutes then degrades somehow, god knows how..on..off..on..off..on..off only thing that could be is a battery or charger problem and easily user rectified.

As for the pipe , yes I used to use a small tobacco pipe, around the same size as what the lady pipe looks with no probs.

I am not commenting the "screwdriver" battery mod or its performance. I am commenting on the vendor and some of his customers - "the fanboys" - who cannot resist talking about their device in just about every thread for just about every product.* I think you have a whole forum dedicated solely to patting your backs and repeating how much you love it. You should leave the pipes and e-cigarettes alone. If anything, Screwdriver can only be compared to other flashlight mods in DIY section. Here, for example, we are talking about a small black electonic pipe. Not about homemade "handmade" battery packs made from DX flashlights. I hope it might be sort of clear now.

* to create and maintain the idea that the homemade battery mod is simply the best and nothing can be as good. Fine for selling more and more, "more than any other device i am quite sure.." But not fine for people who actually want to discuss THE OTHER PRODUCT.

why can't I compare the lady pipe to the SD ??... they are very similar in principal. Both Use a pipe battery, off the shelf atomizers and are of similar form factor, they even use the same NANO charger.
every other device i have i compare to my SD because its the best Device i own. I can rant about the screwdriver all I like on any thread i like because i am an end user of the product, a consumer.
It's no Different to the amount of Fanboys and girls that JANTY have spamming their products for them wherever possible.

Get one, and compare, I agree w/you. I have found, the DSE601 from David, much better than the SD I returned, both in consistency, and vapor, but especially in time bretween refills/topping off. This is why I ordered th LP's last night, cause, like you, I prefer the penstyle atomizer, as well.
