Aged or matured are the only terms I occasionally use rather than steeped. Like all slang it's a term you just get into the habit of using, like mods. Very few of us mod yet we still call our devices mods.

I see where you're coming from with 'matured' Letitia, but to me it seems just a bit like using bouquet to talk about wine instead of aroma or scent.

But that's a nit, it's still way better than steeped

I never liked the term steep. Too much likemaking tea with hot water. When I lived up in the mountains, splitting firewood, you would let it cure... season (dry) Winemakers let the wine season (rest, age) Let me think on this awhile but I still don't like steep. Mute almost works for me... I'll see if I can come up with something better.

 Well, technically speaking, it's all about diffusion. Not steeping, aging, maturing, etc. Seems like we've been debating it forever.

Per Kurt and Hoosier.

Steeping explanation

"I agree with Hoosier, it is primarily a diffusion thing. The way I see it, flavor molecules can sort of clump together in a concentrated flavoring, and sometimes, with some flavors, it takes a little time for them to open up. The thinner the base, the more they open up, and the faster. Some add a little PGA, which really adds to the flavor bloom. But I digress, as this is not a steeping time thing." @Kurt

Yes, but it happens over time.

Well this is quite the useless thread. Might as well start trying to re-name "e-cigarettes" again while we're at it.

Oh I don't know - it's passed the time, kept us off the streets, out of the boozers, occupied our remaining brain cells and got us chatting for a bit, which can't be all bad!

Now let me think .... what might be a better term than E Cigarettes?

BTW being one who likes to play with words - I love your handle!

I have never understood why people get so hung up on words. As long as people understand what you mean and your point was conveyed effectively then job done. I am the same way with so called 'bad" words. Why are some words "bad" when another word with the exact same meaning isn't? Because some idiot somewhere in history decided it was so and it spread through society? It's complete arbitrary nonsense. To me meaning and intent are what makes what someone said bad or good, not the choice of words used to convey the message.

JMHO.

But words matter, almost as much as punctuation.

But do they really?

It doesn't matter which word we use the meaning is the same:
XYZ mod is the pinnacle of vaping technology.
XYZ mod is paramount vaping technology.
XYZ mod is the ultimate vaping technology.
XYZ mod is the preeminent vaping technology.
