I am in the exact place as you. I've had my e-cig since Jan. 1st 2011. I haven't stopped smoking entirely yet, I still smoke up to 7 analogs a day. I've been pressuring myself to quit since I purchased my e-cig. I know I should take it easy, stay positive about the amount I've cut down. So far smoking both the e-cig & analogs have been safe for me.
I will admit that smoking analogs still taste good to me. But I've been a smoker for 20+ years, and have always liked the taste, from day one. Best of luck!

funny at my work about half the people are smokers, a whole lot of them did a new year's resolution to quit. two days later they were in the smoke pit bumming for cigarettes.

i originally got my ecig 'cause i was intrigued and saw it as a great alternative to smoking inside my house and my car (where i don't normally smoke). i didn't set out to quit smoking analogs. interestingly enough, i prefer the ecig and stopped buying/using cigarettes almost immediately. quiting analogs was actually a side effect of my ecig.

I never thought I could quit (and I smoked for decades at 1.5 PAD) but amazingly I had one cigarette while learning to use my PV then that was it. If you do your research here, buy a model that can stand up to your needs, and find an elquid you are even 1/2 happy with, it gets pretty easy to just stop smoking because vaping is actually nicer.

Wow thanks everyone for posting, its so inspirational! Even if I can cut it back from 20 a day to 10 I will be quite satisfied. Now to actually give up smoking altogether is a whole other thing to consider. I am absolutely floored that heavy smokers have made the transition and actually quit.

I have been smoking for 30 years and the last quit attempt consisted of counselling with public health nurse, using nicorrette, the patch, hypnosis and a gym membership. I got to the point where I was down to two cigarrettes a day and prior to my quick date I put a cigarrette way up in a tree in a nearby park. I told myself if I had to climb that tree for that smoke that I was destined to be a heavy smoker the rest of my life.

The next day I climbed that tree!! Looking forward to discovering more about this vaping and hopefully it will help. My eGo kit should be in my mailbox tomorrow. Thanks again for all the info and cheers from Ontario Canada.

I have hardly any experience with e cigs, i have tried one once and am awaiting my order now. Last saturday night was the first time in 20 years that i have found something that will completely replace my cigs. I actually enjoyed the vap MORE then the analog. I have tried everything from chantrix to welbutrin, nic gum to patches. All those options seemed to be less the ok compared to smoking. the vape, to me, seemed better then smoking. Instead of dreading my quit date, i cant WAIT for my ecig to get here. I cant wait to stop smoking analogs.

I went from smoking for 30 years, to cold turkey. I needed something to help, so I went with a no-name e-cig as a backup. I quit both for a bit, then went to zero nic e-cigs for something to do. E-cigs keep me from muching on crap food. I can vape while I am doing whatever instead of eating a bag of chips or bowl of ice cream..

stay on track...it gets better You are stronger then the addiction.

Thats what I was telling myself when I tried to quit cold turkey, I cut back to about 10 smokes a day from a full pack before I went back to a full pack. Now that I have this eGo, I havent smoked an analog in 2 days (a record for me).
