I've always equated the money dropped on vape gear as "costs less than a carton of Marlboro 100's" each time I've made another purchase. I have several batteries, in-use and backups, as I've become accustomed to having to charge batteries for everything I own; my cell phone, my laptop, my tablets, heck, my smartwatch ! Plugging in an e-cig battery to charge is as common place to me as charging my other devices.

I use GreenSmoke cig-a-likes at work simply because of convenience. I have a case that holds four batteries but I rarely go through two in a work shift. The disposable carto's are the ultimate in hassle free. Spin a dead one off, replace with fresh. No tanks, no liquids, no mess.

At home I use a Nautilus Mini with an Aspire VV battery, of which I have two. One battery is always charged, so no "dead battery" issues. My tanks have never leaked/dripped/rusted, etc., thanks to all the helpful advice I've read here. I almost threw a kidney in my sock the first time I tried to refill the tank. I could NOT get it unscrewed. I read up on here and learned I was tightening the tank too tight, y'know, to avoid leaks. Turns out it doesn't need to be tightened as much as I was doing it. Now I can refill with somewhat ease and no leaks.

Is tobacco easier ? Most certainly. You can "refill" in just about every store/gas station you come across. Is it cheaper ? Not by a long shot. Vape gear appears more expensive because you don't immediately throw anything away. You can look at what you bought and recall what it cost. Stinkies get burnt then thrown away, no evidence of cost in your face.

Yes, vaping is a hassle. Charging batteries, filling tanks, replacing coils, gear breaking/dying is never ending. It IS a hassle compared to tapping a fresh cig from the pack and flicking a lighter. Only you can decide if vaping is worth the hassle. I do.

If you choose to go back to tobacco, more power to you; it's your life, your decision.

Rebuilding isn't complicated at all in terms of supplies 28awg kanthal and muji cotton few YouTube vids and your away really not as hard as it looks or some make it sound and the greater level of satisfaction can be had. I am no uber rebuilder but I can do a new coil, fit it and wick it in just over five minutes coils last for ages just need rewicking each week that's how I do it and like I said I'm nothing special if I can do it anyone can :).

When I first started vaping and read all this stuff about rebuilding, the very idea of "messing with something ELECTRICAL" quite literally terrified me. But I have a curious nature, to put it mildly, so I started acquiring all the necessary items, gave it a shot. My first one was about an inch wide, and I couldn't figure out how I'd mount something that big in something so little (the head of a T3S) -- then I heard about flaming the wire, and wow, that really works! The coil stays tiny like you wrapped it! It took about 15 minutes tops, the first time I tried it, and then I was like "Oh. Is that all I have to do?" Once I finally got a Kayfun, I became a vaper instead of an experimenter, and finally saw what all the ruckus was about. There's simply no comparison between a Kayfun and anything that uses replaceable coils. And there isn't one thing about it that's terrifying -- aggravating sometimes, but not terrifying.

rounding third and heading home...
Thats it I draw the line here, batteries constantly dying, crappy mini nautilus gunks up the base and makes the bottom fall apart even after thorough constant washing, tons of ejuices losing throat hit after about a month. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars wasted I think this is it. Everything that has to do with vaping doesnt work, already on third nautilus that broke due to the base being poorly designed allowing it to gunk up and rust. 5 Batteries gone through all just running out of battery and not working or shorting out. I give up id rather die of cancer than go through this crap every day and waste all my money.
no you wouldn't....dying of cancer is not a walk in the park and requires more than a flippant line in a post.keep at vaping-you will find what works for you and it is all better than dying of cancer. i know what i am talking about and if you keep up with the smoking you will too. then let's see you post how much better it is than some frustration with vaping. i will love to see that post if/when you write it- bet you have a different tone then......

Well sure, if you like your vape to feel like you are trying to draw a basketball thru a straw.

But seriously Andria, have you tried the Kanger Sub tank or the Atlantis tanks, and still say nothing compares to the kayfun? I think either far exceed the kayfun.

No... the wrapping part is easy for me, but sometimes the mounting lets me practice my profane vocabulary. :D (kayfuns... those tiny screws!!!)

No... I don't like hot coils, and I hear they're both very airy, which I also hate.

oh yeah, mounting on pin screws really sucks. thats about the only frustration I get since some of my RDA have nuts or pin screws instead of post holes.

there is always more tedious tasks these guys do this literally one grane of sand at a time then destroy it when its done!

seems like an internal battery box mod will solve half of your problem, or at least the battery part. Using RTA or RDA will allow you to change out coils/wicks to instantly solve the gunking problem. And these atties are sturdy, built-to-last. (as long as you get an authentic, or a decent clone) But.. it sounds like you're really done with everything regarding to vaping, which is a shame.. please give it one more try? with an internal battery box mode and rda/rta.

I'm only 2 months into vaping & cig-free... my latest device is an istick 50w with a kanger subtank mini. the subtank had issues that was driving me crazy -- someone on this forum told me to replace the seals, which I did yesterday. So far so good. The istick has been great for long battery life -- I only charge it once every 2 or 3 days and I use it every day.

If I didn't have other devices to fall back on when I got frustrated, I might have been tempted to give up too. The thought briefly crossed my mind when my frustration peaked, but was quickly pushed aside by my determination to remain cig-free.

You can do this. Just decide that you can. This means you'll have to accept that there may be challenges along the way, but you can overcome them. Getting the right device is crucial -- and may take several tries. Decide you CAN do this, and you CAN overcome any obstacles in the way. Keep trying!

For me it's mainly that I need to replace my kayfun coils often enough to not lose the "knack"; but I've found that the kinds of posts you stick the wires through are not that much easier; sometimes it's a real challenge for me to get both ends thru the posts at the same time. Basically I'm a spaz, I've just learned to live with my spaz-ness, and break out the swear words when it becomes a particular challenge. :D But my husband sometimes watches me while I'm re-coiling, truly amazed that I've overcome enough of my own mental limitations to embrace all this mechanical-wonder stuff. :D

People seem to hate Hex style screws. However straight Hex screwdrivers make them work as easily as Philips.
Most Hex screws have a much better base for grabbing wires.:)

Always make sure your wires are going in the Same direction as the threads when tightening. I don't know how many Reviewers/Tutorials I have seen where people were doing it backwards and fighting to keep the wire under the head.

kayfun/russian and vv/vw mod that is not known to crap out.. You will be happy and will not have to buy anything else.
All can be had for less then 100 if you searched. The pair will last years to come. A carton of cigs goes for how much in your state?

Sry I did not read the last 11 pages.
