My initial thoughts on Zing subject to change — YMMV.

I steeped this for seven days as recommended by the developer of this recipe. Since I just started vaping Zing, my thoughts can change

I was surprised that I could taste FW Butterscotch Ripple @ 3% as I generally find FW flavors to be more on the weak side. For my taste I feel it may be slightly out of place in this particular recipe although it does provide some slight butterscotch sweetness. Butterscotch with Lemon not so sure of the taste combination though.

I am not getting the coated mouth feel from FA Premium Custard like I do with Custard - The Quickening so a big plus for me. BTW I still have some of the Quickening so I am letting it steep longer to see if this changes.

If I could only have one lemon custard-esque juice, Lemondowskii wins for my taste. Don’t get me wrong because Zing is good and like I said this may change after I have been vaping it for a while or even with a longer steep but for now Lemondowskii.

I had similar thoughts in reading the recipe which is why I set out to find a replacement for the Butterscotch Ripple. I have 4 15ml testers steeping to test 4 different mixes that I hope will replace the Butterscotch Ripple and do it well. I also LOVE Lemondowski. Our tastes must be similar. :)

I know for certain that I have strange taste buds and use antiquated hardware — however I do get something from Aurora whether it is carbonation, fizz, effervescence or combination for a new feel. It is definitely magical for me too and so happy that you introduced it to me.
Antiquated hardware?? I still use and love my carto tanks.

Since I have the Aurora I might as well try it. What is the recipe you are using it in?

In addition to Aurora, the other flavor you may want to add to your Chefs shopping list is FA Lemon Zest — especially if you want to Zing. Zing

I already ordered lemon zest and it’s on the way. I wish I knew about aurora when I placed the order. Bcf doesn’t have it.

    Happy Mother’s Day!

I’m prepping stuffed manicotti for dinner while my wife and mother in law are visiting my daughter at college. They’ll be home in time for dinner. I’ve got some chores that I want to get done also. Not mixing today but am trying a new recipe.

I had to sub the fa kiwi for vt since I didn’t have it and put some bergamot in since I didn’t have the aurora. I’m going to order the correct ingredients but it’s not terrible with the subs.

It is @PJReid Cranberry Gin Fizz On Rhe Rock. I have not purchased WS-23 yet so no rocks for now.

    Cranberry Gin On The Rocks
    Aurora (FA) 1%
    Botanical Gin (VTA) 4%
Cranberry (TFA) 5.5% (EDIT: If you have it or can get it, Cranberry Super Concentrated, is wonderful and at 2-3%)
Lime Tahity (Cold Pressed) (FA) .5%
    WS-23 30% Solution .5 to .75%
Good as a S&V. Better with a 7 day steep.

She has some other recipes that use Aurora however I have not tried them yet.

I can't vape lemon at all anymore. It's just a total turn off to my tastebuds. I'm the same way with lime but not quite as bad. I can do a slight taste. I do however really like cranberry so I'm going to try this. I actually think this is the recipe I bought the Aurora for.

The manicotti sounds delicious, and the mix sounds refreshing. I have neither Aurora nor VTA Shisha Lime, but I do have bergamot and CAP Lime, INA Lime, and FA Lime Tahity. Which of those limes (if any) might serve as a substitute, do you think?

Note: I typed "Lima" instead of "Lime" once or twice. Mmm, lima bean juice. Who wouldn't want that?

I honestly don’t know for sure which would be better. I haven’t used lime much but the recipe sounded good. Usually shisha flavors have been a little sweet to me so whichever one has a bit of sweetness would probably be good. Be warned that the bergamot is floral but is supposed to steep out most of the floral in a week.

I saw this recipe the other day and saved it. With all of the limes I have, I don't have VTA Shisha Lime. I plan to mix it up with VTA Persian Lime since both are on the sweet side.

@Zazie - of your limes, I don't know which would work best. Out of the ones you have, I would go with the INW Lime - it is a favorite of mixers and an all-purpose great lime flavor.

I guess there is no more appropriate day to try this Mother's Milk recipe test bottle than Mothers Day. 5 days of steeping, might be a bit early :nun:

    Edit: Success! Yummy!

Was that the Mother’s Titties recipe?

kinda off-topic, but it is DIY.. anybody make their own kombucha like me?

I love me some kombucha in the morning but I'm too busy (lazy?) to grow my own scoby. I should try it sometime, maybe, when I'm retired. :D
