This is a simple Rhubarb Custard recipe I like — YMMV. I steep for ~ 3 to 4 weeks.

    0.5% INW Biscuit
    3% INW Rhubarb
    5% CAP Vanilla Custard
My kinda recipe.:) Does the 5% Custard make it sweet?

Does anyone have a recipe they like with a primary flavor of butter rum? Trying to come up with a recipe for hubby (I’m not interested in that flavor but I just got some LA butter rum)
    Eta: maple recipes also welcomed
Here is one I flagged a while ago (and still haven't mixed ):
    Pirates Pride by @rks1949
    6% Butter Rum-LA
    2% Marshmallow-CAP
    1% Egg Nog-CAP
    1% EM or Sweetener
    (original post)

I would think any marshmallow would sub. And, I would definitely stay away from EM. I would likely try this without sweetener at all... to start. And, add later (starting at 0.5%), if I felt it was needed. TFA, or LA Egg Nog would probably sub too... but likely need a little percentage tweaking. :)

Thanks! I definitely don’t have eggnog but that’s a good one to have in the flavor stash, especially for holiday recipes!

I may have mentioned this a few weeks ago. At that time I purchased a 30ml bottle of Holy Holy Vanilla v1. A friend gave me 15mls back in Sep. 2017 and I still have a little left so 30mls should last me at least two years. When I run out, I will likely use INW instead unless I am no longer DIYing
I never developed a wanting for the Holy Holy Vanilla. I'm sure it's a great vanilla but I lean more to creams and some custard.

I’m sure this has been mentioned many times but to save time, what reputation does Hobbyland flavors have? Any good or skip?
Hobbyland has ZERO presence on ATF, and a whopping 6 recipes (for 7 flavors) on ELR. I would be concerned about food coloring and other "unwanteds." That would be a hard pass for me... especially with all the reputable/known brands we have available. But, that's just me. :D

LA Butter Rum is great with Cap Vanilla Custard.

    5% LA Butter Rum
    4% Cap Vanilla Custard V1
    2% Cap Toasted Almond

Simple but good! You can also change it up by adding coconut or caramel (or both) to it.
This sounds really good! How long to steep?

I tend to agree with this depending on the recipe. I have been tweaking the Zesty Zing recipe and like the butterscotch ripple, I am having my doubts on holy holy. I have included it in my calculator for now. If I do not like it, I can always eliminate it next time. Planning to mix my typical taste sample size of 10mls.

Okay, they popped up on amazon when I was buying some ldpe bottles and thought I’d ask the helpful ecf folks what they think. I’ll stick to brands I already know of:)
It never hurts to ask. And, if you're like me, you often learn something. :D

Not many people like black licorice/aniseed, but in case their is anyone who does thought I would share, I loved mad murdocks pluid, so went in search of a clone, found this one -

Couldn't follow exactly, as only wanted to order from 1 place (BCF), so this is my take

    Absinthe TFA 10%
    Cotton Candy TFA 1%
Pacific Cooler LB 2% (better without IMO)
    Horehound TFA 1%
    Lemonade LA 1%

I wasn't sure about the pacific cooler, so did 2 mixes, 1 with cooler and without cooler, and much prefer the 1 without, the cooler seems to tame the strong licorice down, I already got another order of bigger bottles of the flavoring ready for their sale time :)

I keep seeing these chef's flavors popping up, personally I like the one shot diy, I am a lazy mixer and can't be bothered with mixing tons of different flavors for one juice, hence why gave up diy before, I do a few different 1 shot mixes, but nowhere has the selection of the chef's site, already eyeing a few flavors there :)
