Sadly, but frugal as the hubs can be. He repairs everything. I have appliances that was purchased in 93 when the house was built. All work but someday I want (not need of course) a new stove. Having a handyman husband is a good thing but..
No mixing yet! Too busy. Need to because on last 60mL Will have to mix on Friday
On covid..my last test was negative but two patients have been hospitalized for covid with positive signs. It's a mess.
My appliances that came with the new house are all original when I bought the house in 2002. Well except the fridge as I brought the one I had with me and since replaced it. My handle on my microwave fell off a couple of years ago and one of my stove burners is out but I keep on trucking. My goal for the next five years is to get hardwood flooring throughout, and all new appliances. Just so darned expensive! So I'm holding out as long as I can but this carpet has to go soon. I love the hardwood I do have and I will definitely be putting in hardwood throughout.
I've heard both good and bad things about a home warranty. But they get horrible reviews. My coworker got one when they bought their house as the sellers gave them one (or the realtor...can't remember). It takes forever to get someone out there (like weeks), and they only replace what's broken (not an entirely new unit), and they've had to get them out multiple times for the same thing. From what I hear, they use subpar companies to repair things.
Just thinking about my situation...I've only had to replace my heat pump in all these years with no major repairs needed for other stuff. So I've saved money by not getting one and paying that monthly fee for over 18 years. Plus they charge you a fee to even come out on top of the monthly charge. The charge would have been higher than I paid for my heat pump. I guess it just depends but I have no desire to get one. When my heat pump went out my company was here by 6 pm and it was installed by midnight...same day...no waiting.
