Plans today, and every day when I can, are to further myself down the path of a career switch. Just started learning Java(programming language) yesterday on a phone app, but going to get some books soon. I jokingly commented in a thread yesterday "vaping causes aging" that I spontaneously learned Portuguese from vaping. But I wish that were true, only that I wish I spontaneously learned Java. I do have experience, albeit very long ago, in writing/creating HTML websites.. so that helps a tiny bit.

This winter I'll be hitting the books hard, hopefully typing away furiously learning/writing code at my computer, and working to get certifications. Without a degree, certifications are my only option at the moment.. which to many employers, is just as good as, and sometimes even better than, a degree. Long ago, I graduated high school early and immediately(the day after) got a job with an IT consultant company, but without any official qualifications/schooling. I've had quite a few different jobs, but I kinda wish I had stuck with IT.. although, my life wouldn't have shaped out to be what it is and I wouldn't be with my wife. I wouldn't change the past, but I can change my future WITH my wife by my side.
Much luck with finding the perfect job

    Aww :wub::wub::wub: thanks @Skeebo @FranC
I try to be a positive person as much as I can even in the face of some really crappy stuff/life events. Seems sometimes the world is seemingly crumbling around you, but what can you do except move forward in the march of time? It still sucks though, but i think there is some Buddhist proverb/lesson about "good" and "bad" stuff that happens.. I think it's basically good can lead to bad, and bad to good and everything in between.. and to not get hung up too much on good and bad things.

my final fasttech order is now shipped....sadly they refunded me for the thor mod
since I waited so long and they had to refund two items off the order it seems they bumped my shipping up to expedited...
the order was placed on Aug 31st...it's now Sept 22nd...which was no fault of their own, whoever their supplier on the thor mod is a dick and kept saying they'd have it in 3 days...well a month later they still didn't have it...

OMG I got a Xbox Series X but barely. The "plan" was to get it at Amazon but they never went "live" so I went to the Microsoft Store and after loooong loading times and several error messages I was successful! W00T! Got the confirmation email and everything - and they don't bill you until it ships in Nov. Some like Target take the $$$ right away - at least they did in 2017 when I ordered the "new" Xbox back then.
Just curious...sounds like you have PS5 and Xbox. Which do you think is better, especially for a 67-year-old dude who isn't really into gaming all that much? I'm not convinced I need to explore that world, but I am at an age where I want to seek new diversions, especially during the cold-weather months.

To give you an idea how basic my knowledge is, the last game i played and cared anything about was Super Mario...lol. I think beer had a lot to do with my love of that game, but since I stopped drinking years ago, I'm not sure I'd like it all that much these days. Role playing games don't interest me at this point in my life, so it might be hard for me to even find something I like.

Anyway, I'm curious about the two systems and what you think of them.

ETA: If anyone else would like to add an opinion, feel free.

I remember when Pong came out, the first video game. At almost 65 I'm not "pro gamer" material but I try. :D
I was a teenager when Pong came out. LOL I ended up buying it for myself. Parents refused. The only games I remember playing was centipede and then original Mario bro. I cannot play most games these days because I have motion sickness and it comes out whenever I tried to play games. I gave up on the notion years ago. I cannot even watch the husband play.

Well, I mixed the marshmallow fudge recipe similar to RJ and I changed a few things. It is good but needs less cocoa, more marshmallow and maybe a darker chocolate. I will play with it when I finish the 10ml which takes me awhile since I don't go through a lot of juice.

I play a lot of computer games, mostly time management, solitaire and adventure games. Anyone remember the old Hugo games? lol Games have come a long way since those days.

HEEYY - How are You? Ya' got any plans today?

My plans are boring, to say the least . . . No mixing or developing new e-liquid recipes . . . No Shopping for more "Stuff" for the stash or looking for the best MOD out there . . .

All I have to do is finish 3-mugs of morning/wake-up coffee, take a shower, get dressed . . . And then go to the pharmacy to pick-up the meds they forgot to add in the monthly order( NOT NICE - 1 of "My" Heart Pills), then come back to sort and distribute the 19 pills I take (out of 26 medications) into the appropriate pill box days for the month . . .

Then try to find out why the UPS back up battery is 'SCREAMING" at me this time . . . Which means crawling under and taking it out from behind the desk, find & untangle all the cords and then remove all the plugs - once that is done, find if I possibly have to replace core again or get a new one then replace everything . . . BTW: Not fun for an Old Man who can't get down and up from the floor that easily . . . :-x

    So really - not that much to do - like I said boring . . . Just Sayin' . . .

    .

I hear you, Uncle. At 72 I'm in good shape except for a bad knee . That's bad enough for me and does make it difficult to get down on the floor to search under the bureau for something.

If it's something you really want maybe you can find it elsewhere?

I've had Xboxes for a long time, and I did buy one PS4 just to play God of War on. Now it sits. LOL The beauty of Xbox is Gamepass where for $5 extra a month (over the $9.99 Gold) where you can play many games and see what you like. Sony does not have Gamepass.

Maybe Skeebo will comment on the PS4 or 5, I think he plays on one.

AH - Maybe we need to get together . . . I really do not have too much trouble getting down - it's the getting up that takes the time and effort . . . ;)

Just imagine the TV commercial . . .

Anyway, thought more people would get the humor of my last post, especially given how much I had to do for the day - which is really not that much . . . Just the usual "Stuff" for some "OLD" People . . . Oh Well . . . Got to Go - Be Back Later . . . :D

I like Playstation myself, but I must admit it's not because it is better. I have been a Playstation fan forever and I am just more comfortable with them. My daughter likes the Xbox better and she'll tell you it is better. As @DLKnives mentioned if you are into what game pass has to offer it is a better fit.

Oh, and I still play Super Nintendo games and bought a knock off version about 2 years ago for pretty cheap. I primarily use it to play a WWII game that deals with the War in the Pacific.

I know there is a gaming system that has some of the old games loaded into it (I think 40 of them) that was really popular when it came out. If you decide you want to play some of the "modern" games Xbox or Playstation is definitely the way to go though. There will be a little bit of a learning curve but with patience you will find them enjoyable.

Off to work! I'm so slow at everything these days. Procrastination is my middle name. Work called yesterday wanting me to come in and I said "No". I'm sure they will get even with me. Part of me wants to ditch being a nurse and try a job with less stress. Have fun you mixers!

This is why a few years ago I moved all my electronics onto a table. The welter of cords is ugly, but better that than having to creep around on the floor.
