Very much so... I've been waiting seems like forever. This is the one I bought from sourcemore (it had been on presale for a long time). The other one that I won in a contest is still on its way. It took DHL one week to pick up the package--highly unusual for them to be so slow. But I should have on Friday.

They took forever on mine too, but I should get mine on Monday. One of the disadvantages of living in a rural community, mail comes a little slower. I'll take that over the rioting and mayhem of the cities any day.

Good morning random folks :) Have you any plans today?

I had SO many plans today I am not even READING this until now. First, I got up at 4 am. That is correct. 4 am. The husband had NOT set the coffee pot for the correct time so I had to turn it on and drink tea at first. Not cool. Tea's alright but not what you want at 4 am. At 7 minutes before 5, I bathed, did yoga until it was like 10 minutes time to go to work, and then went. It was a phenomenal day because I was totally exhausted, so I wasn't as control freaky and I moved slower.

I was totally cool with it too, because I knew-- NO YOGA going home, in fact it don't matter because I already did it.

4 am is not for the faint of heart, and I will definitely be in bed earlier tonight, that is for DAMN sure. Because I was not rushing and I was like, in the Zone of "This is reality I ain't got no past, l ain't got no future" everything went faster than usual and I got a bunch done.

Even parking (in the morning) is not so bad. I want to find out about my new schedule though. They are doing a phenomenal job building that parking garage horizontally before they prop it up vertically and then it probably is going to make a giant sinkhole or something. Government contractors too, so probably about 2 years from now they will finish making their giant sinkhole full of parking.

Mornings not too bad many white vans eager to take you UP the hill to work. I guess they want you at work. But well, there IS a mythical white afternoon van to take you down to your car, but I have not seen it. I'm okay with it for now because mornings are cold and afternoons not so much. But it does say something, I am not sure what.

Decent day and HALF more like. But yea, it was decent. There are no sleep economies though, it has been a LONG time since I have started taking my meds at 8 (not quite yet) to be asleep by 9.

Hopefully my very slight mania will carry on until this becomes a habit or something. Not an ingrained habit, if you think I will EVER do this on weekends unless it was to save somebody's life, well, uh.... No.

I am pretty tired and that's okay with me. The husband (Still husband without car, hahaha, I should tell him to PAINT that) is nesting. So that means we move soon. It always does. He be getting bored.

Flavor tracking says SOON! Exciting. I guess.

Well, I took a nap and feel better. I bought a book "The Healthy Smoothie Bible" so I could replace meals with smoothies and I will start that a little later and not have dinner. I got everything I needed from WalMart delivered earlier. Lots of frozen fruit.

    Somewhere between here and there
I have a smoothie every morning during the work week for breakfast. It usually holds me over until lunch.

My wife came and got me while I was mowing tonight and said the garbage disposal wasn’t working. It’s fairly new so I figured it must be something else. Ended up the switch was bad so I got it replaced and we are back up and running.

Saves money when you can do that stuff.

It is also very happy and good for you. The husband is an excellent smoothie maker shove a little protein powder in there, and (for some of you a raw egg) it's a meal in a jug.

My little brother got Salmonella and almost died. My mother almost died because we were on a ski trip in the Swiss alps (yeah poor us) and we had this expensive stay up in the resort and she would have to take one of us and drive up and down each day and yell "SHIFT" when it was time to shift gears down this 1.5 lane road of plunging cliff because she hurt her wrist skiing.

So, we were not allowed to eat raw eggs and frankly we didn't want to my mom made it sound like they were RIDDLED with Salmonella. Also, NEITHER parent wanted ANY of us older kids to go skiing when like, they were down watching the boring baby brother die of Salmonella but we very swiftly evolved into a pact where we most CERTAINLY did all of our skiing during the day while our parents were gone.

That might be one still long held deep secret I guess? I don't remember a big melt down about it.

My little brother like, well his first memory (ever) is of being in some steel room with a giant robot arm that like grabbed him and inserted itself as he frantically yelled, begged and pled for help.... So yeah I would think that would be a BAD first memory to have.

But you know, with everything bad, there is also good. Whenever he mentions the robot he mentions his SECOND memory of that time period is he had to have a barium enema and well they are white, chalky things is what they are and I forget their usefulness but some diagnostic thing. The little brother stated he got up one fine early morning and felt the need to poop. He stated he entered a white room with a halo of white light shining down upon it, and the throne, upon which he sat and deposited a "perfectly white, 100% uniform consistent poo" into the bowl. The way he tells it, it's like a near death experience or something....

So make of it what you will I resisted the husband's raw egg offerings until the holiday season and then I could hold out no longer, barium enema or no. So it's really up to you... but smoothies, egg or eggless are GREAT.

I should really try to make a flavor capturing the essence of my brother's experience man. I'd have to think about a name. But it would have to be built around the flavor, "White Chocolate."

I have a cuisanart coffee maker with a grinder built in to it. It’s been great with no leaking. I’ve had it so long that I’m not sure exactly how old it is. I know it’s at least six years old. It’s lasted longer than any other one I’ve had.
I've had two, including my current one. No complaints, always worked well and brewed good coffee.
But, here's my Cuisinart story. I've had a Cuisinart food processor for at least a hundred years. I'm exaggerating but certainly 30yrs. At long last, the plastic piece into which the metal chopping blade fits finally cracked. So, I called Cuisinart to get a replacement blade. Gave the guy the model number of the food processor and he said he never heard of it and puts me on hold. After quite a while he comes back on and says they have it in stock. Gave him my name and mailing address and he says I'm all set and he was about to hang up. But, I said what about payment? And he says no charge, you're all set. Got the blade a week later. Blades for new food processors aren't cheap. They could have charged me for the replacement part for my antique, but they didn't. They did however make a consumer very glad to be one of their customers, and engender a bit of loyalty. Reminds me of Provari.

That's always nice and I try to deal with companies like that. When my recliner needed 2 new springs and my dealer had closed up the maker sent me the springs for free and I think that saved me about $50.

Wow I just made and drank my first smoothie in months and it was really good! Banana, mango, blackberries (those 3 fruits were frozen), 1 orange, spinach and a cup of water. I loved it! :w00t:
Sounds pretty tasty. I've been making smoothies myself recently. I use spinach in my smoothies too. My go-to is spinach, cucumber, and an apple. Honestly, it's not the tastiest drink, but it is a quick way to get some nutrients.

Agreed. When I'll be buying some new appliance, unless the competitor's product is far better, then I'll be buying the Cuisinart.

The plastic sleeve that fits over the hopper of my ancient Cuisinart (a graduation gift from my parents in 1978) broke a couple of years ago. I searched and searched for a replacement to no avail. I was very sad: everything else about the machine was fine; it still worked like a champ. I couldn't bear to junk it. And now you have given me hope: if Cuisinart could help you out, maybe they can come through for me, too. A plastic sleeve for a forty-two-year-old food processor? Why not?

    Update:

Okay - It was almost a much better day then yesterday . . . Went to a great thrift store, found a bearly used "New" Cuisinart Coffee maker (say maybe 2-3 months old- really nice Blue) - sells in the stores for $99 - priced here $30 w/30% Off final price $22 . . . They also had a GE 2.2cubic Microwave that was bearly used too, sells at Lowes for $399 on sale for $80 w/ 30% Off final price $59 . . . So great bargains and a really nice day - Right ?

Nope - finally got the very very heavy microwave up the stairs and into apartment - almost didn't make it - struggling all a long the way . . . But only to find out - :-x :censored: :-x - the microwave is 1" inch too tall to fit on shelf. . . NOT NICE :-x :-x :-x

Don't know if they will take it back and refund money, but I can't use it - especially if it won't fit in the space . . . . We measured it before I bought it, supposed to be a little over 13" H but noone measured from the store shelf to the top of microwave (forgot to include the feet) . . . So -We'll see what happens when I speak with the store manager . . . :pop:

Oh -Yea, Coffeemaker is all set up for auto brew - I'll let Ya' know how the coffee is tomorrow. . .

Ouch. And the shelf can't be adjusted at all?

Good luck! Maybe they'll give you store credit?

Sounds good. I like smoothies. One of my favs (Bobbie Brown recipe)--tasty and it's good for you!
    • 1/2 cup coconut milk or your favorite milk substitute (hemp, almond)
    • 1 tablespoon raw cacao
    • 1 scoop chocolate (or vanilla) plant-based protein powder
    • 1 date pitted and soaked (optional, if you like it sweeter)
    • 1/2 frozen banana
    • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cherries
    • 1/2 cup kale (or spinach)
    • 1/2 cup ice
ETA: I like to add a teaspoon of chia seeds. :)
