    Somewhere between here and there
Did a couple of 25ml mixes tonight with my new SSA flavors.

Raspberry Syrup 1.5%, Whipped Cream 1.5%, Shortbread Cookie 0.75%.

    Blueberry 2%, Shortbread Cookie 2%.

Maybe too high, maybe too low, but hopefully it will give me a feel for them. I never seemed to get any benefit from trying single flavors, I generally make up a recipe for a first run and then adjust from there.

Never used such small amounts before, but the flavors did smell very strong in the bottle. I used a 1ml syringe to measure them. Luckily they came in dropper bottles with very thin nozzles so it was easy to drip them into the top of the syringe. I forgot to get a plunger out and the flavoring was draining out of the syringe very slowly so I blew it out. My lips were stinging.

Any suggestions on steeping time for the SSA flavors?

I like the blueberry with caramel biscuit at 2 and 3%. I’m curious to hear how you like it with the shortbread. I tried the blueberry solo and it wasn’t great but really like it with the biscuit. For some reason the biscuit made the blueberry pop.

Blueberry and caramel seems like such a weird combo, but now I kind of want to try it.

BTW, I am thinking about buying myself a new mod. Out of all the ones you have tried or reviewed in the last 6 months or so, which one would you say you have liked the best?

It does sound like a weird combination but I like it.

That’s a hard question. Do you want a mod with 510? I very much like the swag PX80 but you’d have to buy gtx coils for it. I like the lost vape Ursa I bought very much but it’s a little on the heavy side. The Drag X plus is very good so far. It’s not new but I’ve had one or two Jac dna75 mods in rotation for a long time. The Argus Gt is a favorite of mine. I reviewed it and bought a few more. Also the VapX Meteor is a nice mod with fast charging if you have a 45 watt power adapter. However it is built in battery.

I really want to try a dovpo Odin mini dna mod but can’t bring myself to spend $100+ on it.

It has to have a 510. I think the Swag PX80 is pretty cool, but I don't want to have to also get an adapter just to use the mod. The Drag Plus X is one that I have been looking at, also the Vaporesso Forz. I had forgotten about the Argus GT. Thanks for the advice.

I have one and love it. I also have the Odin 100 watt version and it's nice too. I like the color schemes on the Odin DNA better though as the 100 watt version is not one solid color.

I am waiting on Lost Vape to release the new Thelema DNA 250C. I hope it happens before the deadline.

The Drag X Plus is nice because it's pretty lightweight and uses a 21700. I'd just get the mod unless you want to buy TPP coils. I like the new coils and ordered five boxes. The Forz is very nice too but would have been better if it was 21700. To me the coils that come with the Forz kit are too high rated for a 18650 mod. If I was going to buy one then I'd just get the mod and not the kit. The Argus GT is great because it's dual 18650 but still very lightweight and fits in the hand nice. Any of those three would be a great one to get in my opinion.

I thought about getting the 100 since it's much cheaper but am afraid I'd regret not getting the dna. However, I haven't seen the dna under about $119 and with as much gear as I have it's hard to justify spending that much on one mod. Not to mention that with a coupon code I could just about get two of the Jac dna mods.

Anything I end up getting will be just the mod. I don't have much use for any of the tanks that come with the kit. The Drag X plus can also use the 18650 batteries, right? Because that is all I currently have.

I was just checking out Dovpo's website. It seems they are releasing another DNA called the Riva. It looks pretty sharp.

I generally wait 2 or 3 weeks. I don't have a dedicated dripper or anything for testing, just when I have to rewick a tank of something I'm ready for a break from I clean it out good and put the new juice in. With around ten setups going it takes a good while to get through a 25ml bottle which gives me a chance to see if more steeping time improves it.

I'll report back when I start using it.
    Thank you :)

The four SSA flavors I got are almost clear, just a very faint hint of red in the raspberry. They say darker juices are more likely to clog wicks faster so maybe that's a good thing.

This morning all the bubbles from mixing the juice had gone but there was a ring of something on the glass around the top of the liquid. It looked like something might have precipitated out but when I shook them a little the rings disappeared and there were tiny bubbles in the juice. May just be because I had run out of brown bottles and used clear bottles. I wouldn't have even seen those rings in the usual brown glass.

Clear flavors are always a big plus.

    From my notes:

"1% FA Raspberry and 3% PUR Raspberry - after a 3 day steep the florals are gone, and I've got a ripe, plump juicy raspberry that is perfect." -- @AngeNZ

" INW raspberry Malina and shisha. Both singles are good. Have only used them is one mix, the malina is strong. I'll have to drop it down to .75%. Between the two they make for a nice raspberry and steep faster than Purilum. For creams I believe I will stick with the Purilum and FA beryl. The INW and RF for me will most likely be for straight up fruit mixes or bakery blends." -- @Letitia

"Purilum is a beautiful bright non-candy raspberry and does't need another berry to boost it; hands down my favorite but better with a good steep." -- @Letitia

"Purilum raspberry shines brighter with a steep, one of my favorite raspberries. Word of caution, it gets stronger with time and can take over at 3%. That's a good percentage for a small batch though. Stands up beautifully with heavy creams. Okay in 10 days, enough to tell if you'll like it. Just keeps getting better, about 4w is where I like it. I'll mix 90ml 2.3% with creams, cheesecakes, pull off 15ml to vape and forget the rest for a few weeks. With straight fruit mixes 1-3% depending on where I want the raspberry to sit., week is usually enough for those. I would do a pairing with your boysenberry. The Purilum is bright and not candy sweet imo. I add 2 drops raspberry to the 15ml I pull off the 90ml." -- @Letitia

    Here are @PJReid's raspberry note:
    Thanks friend.

    Happy Friday, folk.

Just more rain here, so trying to keep the cats off my ankles...

I did a junk bottle mix like we were talking about. I had four or five bottles of two flavor mixes I knew I wasn’t going to finish and dumped them all into a 50ml bottle. I haven’t been brave enough to try it yet.

Uh, good luck with that! Every time I've done that with mixes I don't like, the mash up is the same, don't like. And, if you do luck out and it's the best you've ever mixed, how do you duplicate it?? Paradise lost!

I'm not sure right now but either Tim Weismann or SP013 did a review on it already. It looks nice.

It wasn't necessarily that I didn't like them but it was just a bunch of two flavor mixes I had from testing flavors.

Here is the review I was talking about.

Dovpo RIVA DNA250C BOX MOD - Review

I just couldn't decide if I wanted a dual battery dna or not. It looks a little wide to me.

The price point is the same as the Odin DNA 75C, strange. I hope they release it in time... I'd like to get both the Thelema and the Riva.

Yep! I didn't buy any of my pods there, but I know a few people who did, and got clones, too. Their Eleaf iSticks are, quite a few of their coils are, their "Kanger Evod" starter kits are, and even their supposed "Eleaf" Mini USB charging cables shown with an Eleaf box are, too. There are other things, also. Many of them never had the clone info disclosed, until fairly recently. ;)
wow, I had no idea about this and Central Vapors. I know I have bought from them before but am wondering what now
