Not to say that marshmallow is a bad call but if I wanted to sub it with another in one of the mixes, would you have a suggestion like perhaps a cream? Or simply drop it altogether?

Good Morning! I might have to try INW Am4a and HS French Pipe. I'd likely not have found these on my own before giving up. You likely saved me a bit of frustration also. I mix for a handful of others, a couple of which haven't completely given up the stinkys. So I'm hopeful these tobaccos might be helpful in their transition. I know, from researching, baccy vapes can be shake and vaped but are much better and richer after a lengthy vape. All I wrong to assume they all need at least a 5-6 week steep? I am f a r from any sort of a tobacco expert. But, that said; I can't think of ever seeing marshmallow added to a tobacco mix.
Based on your suggested recipe, I am guessing you are wanting a tobacco based recipe, that has toffee and vanilla accents (based on percentages). I am not sure what the marshmallow is supposed to be adding to the mix?
This is only the way I build a recipe (and I am not saying it it the "right" way, or the only way); but I tend to start with just the bare essentials, and then add additional ingredients only to fill in the missing pieces.
(I ended up this way; because initially I started out trying to mix mega-ingredient recipes, that tried to cover every nuance I could conceive of, and always ended up tasting like my kitchen trash can... a little bit of everything.)
So, when I look at your recipe:
-- I see a tobacco base (5% HS Desert Ship).
-- With a caramel toffee secondary (1.5% HS Toffee Caramel); and is a pretty classic pairing for tobacco (caramel).
-- And an addition of nut (FA Mixed Nut); also a more common tobacco addition.
-- Finished off with a vanilla accent (FLV Vanilla Bean); common for enriching caramel, and also moderately common to tobaccos.
I just can't place a purpose for 2% marshmallow. ???
Marshmallow can add body/mouthfeel to a mix, even a minor bit of sweetness; and I understand that, at least if talking in terms of a dairy, custard, or bakery style of vape. But, I am just not seeing it needed (desired?) in a tobacco-centric vape. Again... that is only me, and my limited perception.
I (personally) would omit it altogether; and only give it further consideration, if I found that particular characteristic missing, after tasting the initial mix.
Various creams, custards, even cheesecakes, can add that mouthfeel and added richness, while adding a creamy component. But, to me, then the tobacco stops being the central note, and becomes relegated to an accent (and 5% seems too much; in that case).
The one criticism, I see of certain tobaccos (though I have yet to experience it myself); is that some can seem "dry." If this were the case (and not my personal experience with HS Desert Ship), marshmallow would not be my solution. Instead, I would look to a low percentage of a neutral fruit (like pear, dragon fruit, or even a touch of cactus), at 0.25% or less. That should be enough to add a perception of moistness, without making its presence/flavor known.
Again, this is entirely hypothetical on my part. I could well be 100% wrong, and marshmallow is the holy grail, to this recipe. Just mix small batches; until you know what works for you.

Both are good, but it I had to pick only one, it would be INW Am4A without question. INW Gold Ducat is another that has a very large/vocal fan base. I bought some during a recent sale; but have yet to try it for myself. (Note: Gold Ducat is purported to be a substantial coil killer. You have been warned.
)Every person is different. For some, tobaccos are just the ticket. While others (like me), they were the worst thing I could vape.
Experimentation is the only thing, I can think of, to find what an individual needs. For me; it was mints. Others crave sweets (candies, and/or fruits with a lot of sweeteners). Others, may want a strong flavor like cinnamon or licorice.
The one thing I think is kind of universal(?), is; don't skimp on the nicotine. I was told (as a pack/pack-and-a-half day smoker, that 18mg/mL is where I needed to start. I struggled at that level. Then, another clerk, suggested I try 24mg/mL. All of a sudden, I wasn't struggling, and hit smooth sailing. In less than two weeks I was back down to 18mg/mL.
Vaping is similar to smoking; but not the same. Give your friends/family every chance to succeed.

From my own reading, I was under that same perception, with my first forays into tobaccos. Until I read someone's post saying they liked INW Am4a at just 3 days! What could s/he possibly be thinking?! In a moment of uncharacteristic bravery; I gave it a try. who'd a thunk... I liked it. In fact, I learned I like Am4a best, from 3 days to two weeks. After that, it changes too much for me. This is one of my own experiences, that has led me, to tasting all new (to me) concentrates, early and often. The "rules of thumb" do often/regularly apply for me.
In the most general of terms (and I can only speak for my own palate); I find most of the tobaccos I have tried (12-18???), have more green/floral/grassy notes when young. And, shed much of that, to develop more of the darker/richer/more woody notes, as they age. Where any given person, is going to like any given tobacco, is a total crapshoot. (that is; if they like it at all)
I tend to like a younger tobacco (at this point anyway
). However, it does seem, that the majority like a much more shed tobacco. Hooray for DIY and making it the way each one of us likes it best.

A few comments from ELR convinced me to give it a try...
Chachi Vapes: This is a fluffy, rich and slightly cheesy creamy cheesecake flavor. It is very authentic. I don't know how else to describe it. It tastes like a slightly less sweet actual piece of cheesecake you would get at the cheesecake factory. Very thick mouth feel to help push the idea of cheesecake.
authormichellehughes: This reminds me of a "real" cheesecake without the crust. I think they nailed it with this flavor.
Rabrjrj: This is a fluffy, rich and slightly cheesy creamy cheesecake flavor. It is very authentic. It tastes like a slightly less sweet actual piece of cheesecake not sweet at all.
Ambedo: 4% 29day steep: has a definite cheese note, not off-putting at all. Leans heavily towards being a cheesecake vs any type of custard. Not detecting any kind of custard eggyness, I guess it does have some kind of pudding like qualities but that's as close to custard as this seems to get. Has a nice balanced sweetness, kind of like a lightly sweetened vanilla cream cheese. No graham notes or cheesecake crust notes that I can detect. There is some nice vanilla in there as well but it's nothing crazy, just a somewhat generic kind of smooth vanilla type deal. Overall quite a nice single flavor, but I can see this working very well to thicken up any kind of cream or custard type recipe, obviously will work wonders in a cheesecake recipe as well. Seems like this will be a very useful concentrate for many dessert style mixes.

No worries, you’re not alone!Seems to make perfect sense to me! I had a few reasons for adding marshmallow, but, my inexperience with tobaccos was likely my downfall. The first reason I added it was based on @dobroeutro ’s post...

They are great stand alone and in mixes with vanilla, caramel, nuts & creams...”I used this as my guide as I wrote the recipe. This is also why I decided to start with one of my Hangsen tobaccos. I couldn’t think of a creamy flavor I felt would be good with my perception of tobaccos at that time. (I know different now, thanks to you.) I know marshmallow is less creamy and more full, fluffy and sweet. That sounded good to me at that time. My thinking was also that marshmallow would bring all the flavors together and help deliver the sweetening part of Sweet Desert Ship. Though looking at your break down, I believe you’re likely right and marshmallow should be omitted. I think maybe I subconsciously added it for a bit of insurance which shows my reluctance of mixing with tobaccos. I’m not as concerned now that I understand a bit better what to expect. Think I’m going to mix a few testers all the same way except for the tobaccos and maybe I’ll do one odd one with marshmallow, just for comparison. Right or wrong, there has to be something to be learned from doing so.

Thanks for reminding me of this. This one guy keeps wanting higher nic but I’ve been concerned with the flavor of his juice with higher amounts. He also deserves the best chance possible! I might have to look into nic salts or other alternatives for him.
This is definitely intriguing news to me! My mind is already going considering the different directions I can take for the young and aged characteristics. I haven’t yet seen them described this way before. Interesting!
