I have never been there, but did see it on the Man vs. Food episode.
Been there done that. It is only about 80 miles from my house. Darn good steak too, but that was far far into ancient times ............bout 40 years ago .........no way now.
Very random and totally off kilter........How do you folks like your steak cooked? I’m in the medium rare category, still red and bleeding.
Amarillo is a cesspool I 40 & I27 make it the drugs crossroads of America.I lived in Amarillo for awhile...hated it! It's only saving grace is my daughter was born there.
The decor is visually overwhelming. They have stuff everywhere you can look. Lots of taxidermied animals. A mariachi band. The food is good. I've never tried to eat the 72 oz steak, it's the size of a roast. Plus, you have to eat the sides too.
Not so much harsh but strong (it is spot on croissant.. and to me me, has lots of butter notes) Many bakery flavors (like cookie) need to go a little less %... they can easily overpower more delicate flavors.Does anyone find WF Croissant kind of strong or harsh?
Ouch! Snooze you lose? They actually sold out of all versions of the various Nautilus coils by the afternoon I posted about it.
I wonder if it was Bills magic vapor that mentioned it.
BTW: Forgot to mention, "My" Father was a butcher - I even "worked" with him every so often too (Could tell Ya' a lot more - but gonna leave it at that) . . . So - Having meat and/or poultry for every meal was not a problem and according to my father was actually a necessity growing up . . . Just Sayin' . . .![]()
Boiled mince--yuck.When my mother was 12, which was around 1940, she suddenly refused to eat meat any more. All she said was she just couldn't do it. Vegetarian was rare back then. It was so unusual that her school called in a psychiatrist to find out what was wrong with her, but she stuck to her guns and never ate meat again.
She cooked meat for the kids but it was hit or miss since she didn't eat it herself. She made a lot of mince, which is english for ground beef. Threw a bag of mince in a pot of boiling water and cooked it until it was grey and rubbery. On the other hand she made killer shepherd's pie which I still eat regularly from her original recipe. I never ate fish growing up because she wouldn't allow it in the house. But then in my teens I had a little money and started going to the fish and chip shops and loved fish ever since. Haddock and catfish are still my favorites.

Now there was a man who did not know how to own his mistakes. Ridiculous.I don't understand why they'd get upset. The wife and I use to go to this steakhouse in Boston which had this Jamaican Jerk seasoned steak that I would get every time I'd go there. Our last time there I ordered my usual and the steak came minus the seasoning. I told the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen. When she brought it back out the chef simply put a small mountain of seasoning on the steak. It literally looked like a mountain, must have been a good half ounce of seasoning. I called the waitress back over and politely asked, "was the chef ......?" and she told me, "oh yes, he was very angry". There was no way I was going to eat it.
Is it a secret? Or would you be willing to share? On the other hand she made killer shepherd's pie which I still eat regularly from her original recipe.
