The apartment search drama continues. They are trying to look online. I suggested they go there and look in person. It’s a smaller town with a college so not a lot of options online.
Is it possible to see the local newspaper online? Might be ads in it.

New Hampshire doesn't call it a vapor tax. They just added ecigs to the excise tax on real cigs.
Unless it's changed in recent years, it was still fairly low. When I lived in VT and smoked, me and every other smoker in VT drove over to NH for cigs.

Am I the only one here who doesn't mind buying gear from U.S. stores?

The shipping restrictions were always to be expected in my mind, and my state only charges an excise tax on e-liquid, which I don't buy, so maybe I'm less affected than others but it's not bothering me to continue business with what few U.S. retailers we have left.

it's keeping them in business a while longer anyway.
I only bought from US stores, until this pathetic state of MA began a 75% tax on all vaping products. Add in what some (but not all) online vendors say they must charge for shipping and adult signature, then you've almost exactly doubled the price to me.
I won't pay that. I'll take a slow boat to a foreign country and buy there.

That’s a good idea. I’m about ready to head up to bed but I’ll look tomorrow.

I don't like that stores, online and local, are now required to collect, and store, your personal information as part of the PACT Act.

Per the details in the PACT Act they are currently required to report your info plus all info on items you purchase to the ATF and your state Attorney General. Too risky IMHO. Goobermint doesn't need to know what I buy.

That info is not being collected and shared with our lovely goobermint by foreign online stores. I refuse to participate in any of that kind of nonsense. For me, the cost of doing business with USA vape places is no longer worth the risk.

Goobermint took a step too far with PACT Act.

ETA: When I buy a wash machine, a gallon of milk or a screwdriver that data does not get reported to guv. Or the freakin' ATF. I mean, dang, I can go buy a gun and see less of a hassle than with vaping gear.
I forgot about that. No, I won't participate in that either.

I checked the PACT Act wording earlier today. The ATF having all that info, and power to act, is scary. Once they have that, say for someone who bought a lot of gear, and they get some wild hair up their guv ...., what's to stop them from doing a raid at some point in the future? And confiscating someones gear and nic?

I mean, on one hand I do feel for USA based vape businesses. On the other hand... smart business people don't stay involved in risky businesses, where gov chooses to interfere, for too long. Risk/reward/loss. A buddy of mine and his wife, knowing this was coming, sold their vape business in 2017. The folks who bought it added cigs and other items basically turning it into just another convenience store.

I mean, it just sucks all the way around.

    I suppose.
I lived in England for two years, one in Oxford and one in London.
I loved it, loved the history, the landscape, the people.
But really. How does a country whose empire straddled the globe, whose culture is so refined, revert to sports related gangsterism.
And, how did you end up in Indiana?
I went to St John’s for a transfer. Loved Oxford!

    Morning/evening all

Couldn't resist trying my blueberry ice cream....Fran's ice cream base + my blueberry additions. It's nice but I can't help thinking it needs a heavier cream in there and a little more sweetness. Still I am a custard lover and was brought up with Cornish ice cream smeared with lashings of clotted cream

I'm thinking a touch of Vienna cream FA or a custard :D.... we'll see. The ice creams I've got are just seeming a little light after all ice cream homemade is basically a frozen custard with more cream in it..... UK recipe. You can't get thick double cream in France.....no sir!!

    Sleep well everyone :)

I was watching a GrimmGreen video and he mentioned that he always wanted a banana/rootbeer e-juice. I know... sounds gross but hey, why not. Going to mix a micro batch (5ml) so I don't waste much when it goes down the drain LOL Actually, I have an idea... making a rootbeer float anyway so I'll just try some with banana added. My greatest fear is that I might actually like it (that means I've officially lost my mind)

nope, that is U.K. only... I found somewhere that imports some in jars but I'm unsure how that works with cream because it has to be overnighted to buy from them, I assume because it's cream. In the end it's terribly expensive but there's a recipe I've wanted to try from the great British baking show thats caused me to heavily consider going the distance with the purchase... haha

(haven't caved yet... I can't seem to find an occasion the now costly dessert would warrant... lol)

We've brought back clotted cream before but it doesn't freeze well and you have to eat it quickly before it turns sour....but oh my god....Devon cream teas...scones, jam and clotted cream. Delicious :)

Morning, all, and happy day after Monday ;)

Day one of VBS is over and no one died. Day two might be different. The main craft leader will be out and I'm in charge. We might have a kid or two fly out the window, which is rather difficult since we are in the basement.

I guess that's one way to see if they've learned how to pray ;)

Watering today. Before what they claim is the last 80+ day for a bit. Well, a short bit. Still better off than many other places.
