She's too undecided. It could end up being a big mistake to pay for the more expensive degree. With the RN she can get a job and support herself. If she decides after that she wants the expensive degree she'll be able to save for it.
I agree and that's the direction I'm going to try to steer her.
If she were to get a job now at a hospital most will pay a % (up to 100% depending on what they offer) for nursing school with the requirement that the nurse graduate work for a certain number of years for that organization. In the hospital I worked for, they also will pay for a nursing undergraduate degree such as an ADN or BSN in nursing too.
ETA To me it's a no brainer, your education is paid for, guaranteed employment , an income, plus she gets used to working in a hospital environment.
I will definitely mention that to her. I think the RN is the way to go for now and like you said, let the hospital pay for the BSN.
