IMO, that's an example of a post that I don't see
a reason for posting at all.
For example: There are certain things that I don't start a post about, or take part in discussions of them on ECF...when other people discuss them. But, I don't post to sort of announce to everyone that I won't be posting about them, if the topics come up in
threads.

There's
no reason to, IMO. Also, telling people to "carry on", isn't necessary either, IMO. They have every right to...whether I'm interested in it or not. They don't need permission.
Can you imagine how full
threads all over ECF would be, if
everyone posted to say they won't be posting about things...every time some discussions start that they don't care to take part in?
Not trying to jump your .... here, but maybe to give you a little insight into why things you say sometimes seem to be better off not said.
