For the most part-it's better. A onion taste super sweet to me. I have hit and miss taste now. I still cannot smell human odors which is needed in nursing. I did smell perfume for the first time recently. I have what is called "Covid long haulers syndrome". I expect taste/smell never to be like it was before.
My dad had covid, everything smelled like breakfast sausage for about two months. Hopefully it will pass in time.

UPDATE:

The Car saga . . . Well couldn't find anyone to get a jump start from, so of course waited until EARLY this morning to call tow company . . . An hour later the tow man showed up and asked what was wrong - Long Story Short - he got in car and the car started right up . . .

Both embarrassed  and ...... at the same time . . . :-x

Thankfully, no charge - gave the man a tip anyway . . . :thumb:

Anyway car at mechanics - says he can't check starter unless it is not working (don't understand that, then again I am not the mechanic) - asked him to go over car anyway and double check battery, check fluids, also see if anything else was wrong. Hopefully I get car back this afternoon - NEED to go food shopping - and go to doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon . . . We'll see . . . Just Sayin' . . .

.
Fixing car problems can sometimes be very frustrating. I just got rid of one because I lost all patience with it. Hopefully your mechanic can figure out what's wrong with yours.

I hope your Dad is ok??
He's still alive, breathing treatments 4x/day, and PT. He was in the high risk category, so I'm just glad he made it through it. For awhile there we weren't sure he would. I'm very grateful he did.

Well, Skeebo is off irrigating the fields and SMT went to take a nap and disappeared but where is the rest of you fine random folks.
I'm here, just nothing much to talk about that would really interest anyone. Harvested some green beans a minute ago, had stuff to do earlier so I got to it late. Trying to decide on what to watch to wind down for the evening. What you up to Fran?

No, not a lot can be done to check a starter other than see if it spins up. The most common issue there is actually the solenoid, which switches the high current needed by the starter. But good to have the rig gone through before any sort of winter sets in. Or you need to move to higher ground.

Thanks for the info (I knew someone would know) . . . . BTW: Don't really need to worry about Winter killing the battery around here - Now Summer heat is another story . . . AND - As for higher ground, that's not happening either - FL is flat . . . Anyway, $200.00  later mechanic replaced the 3 year old battery with an AC Delco . . . I NEED an inexpensive used SUV in good repair ;) . . . Just Sayin ' . . .

Any problems with the carton voice?

IDK. I'm alone and nobody's called me, and I don't talk to myself. I assume that is going to be an ongoing issue. Voice changes with the VNS firing are not a side effect, but a given that I have to live with. The vocal cord paralysis was a complication that was a risk of the surgery. I can make the cartoon voice go away with the magnet, but I couldn't have done anything about the hoarseness without the injection.
