New recipes. Actually there are a few and they are based off my new Cake Base #1. I've been tweaking the banana and orange for some time getting each flavor to layer properly and yet clearly present itself.

Cake Base #1

FW White Cake 3%
FLV Pound Cake 1%
VTA Milk Fresh 1%
VTA Vanilla Cream 1%

It is a tasty cake vaped solo or with other flavors mixed in. Sweetness is low to just touching mid-level. Milk Fresh and Vanilla Cream add a nice moist creaminess to offset the dryness of the cakes. FLV Pound Cake is a yellow cake. If subbing, JF Yellow Cake will work fine at the same percent. FA Milk is a straight sub for VTA Milk. I like both milk flavors equally. For this mix I chose VTA as I already knew how well Milk Fresh and VTA Vanilla Cream work together in a mix. If one desired a slightly sweeter cake base then sub WF Fluffy White Cake for the FW White Cake.

Banana Cake

VTA Banana Custard 1.75%
FA Banana 1.5%

Those two combined make for a fine and realistic banana profile. FA Banana is a very realistic banana. VTA Banana Custard is more of a banana cream than a custard. That is especially true when compared to actual custards like CAP Vanilla Custard v1 or FA Custard Premium. Together with the cake base they do make a good banana cake. The bananas are not candy style at all.

Optionally for a Banana Cake only: VTA Chocolate Mousse could be added at 1.25% - 1.5% for a lighter chocolate tease without taking over the cake base. FA Walnut could be added at 0.5% - 0.75% if a nut is desired. Hazelnut would also be a good choice for a nut.

Orange Banana Cake

FA Blood Orange 1.5%
FA Royal Orange 1.25%

Adding the oranges to the bananas makes a pleasing, and more complex, cake. Orange adds citrus and zest to the banana. Together they compliment each other nicely in a Yin Yang kind of way. The FA oranges are really good separately. Combined they are a powerhouse and create the best tasting and most realistic orange I've had. Blood Orange is more zesty. Royal Orange is more like a straight up orange juice.

If one wanted an Orange Cake only, skip the bananas and increase Blood Orange to 1.75% and Royal Orange to 1.5%. If one wanted the banana but desired the orange to be out front then add 1.5% Banana Custard and 1.25% FA Banana. The layering will still translate as described below.

Vaping all of the above combined, 12% total flavoring, the mix does not get muddled in any way. Quite simply it is just two fruits (banana/orange) and a cake.

When I vape the above mix I get the the cake base slightly out front followed by a smooth banana and finally orange on the backside or exhale. I am very pleased with how well the layering translates. It did take me a few iterations to get the layering where I was happy. IMO the fruits are positioned as they would be in a real life cake.

So, you don't like banana or orange vapes? Fine. Simply choose a fruit or two that you like and go from there. Naturally if one chooses darker fruits the percents will need to be lower, versus any of your lighter fruits, or they will take over the cake base.

Any of your lighter fruits or tropical fruits will work fine with the cake base. Again the percents will need to be tweaked (start low/work up).

ETA: @Zazie can you please add this to your blog? I'm not sure how you want to do it because there are 3 recipes.
I'll make an entry for each.

Buying exotic wood, there are obviously more than one who buys lol, the two blocks I had seen on ebay went right in front of my face.
So much for planning combined shipping.
Oh well, the seller posts quite regularly so now I've learned.

    Somewhere between here and there
Oh good. Sounded like you were out of work.

Thankfully that's not the case. I've got some but not much of a backlog. I did schedule some more calibrations for Tuesday for a customer that called this morning.

Well, I really don’t know what a wild melon tastes like. The flavor isn’t really melon like to me but it’s so far tasty.
To me, FLV Wild Melon tastes like honeydew out front, combined with back notes of cantaloupe and watermelon. It's a good flavor. Some like it on its own.

And what exactly is a wild melon compared to a domesticated melon? IDK. I've never seen or been to a wild melon patch.
