We actually ended up going to a flooring place instead. They’ll have someone here this coming week to measure. Sounds like installation is pretty reasonable.
It's been my experience a flooring store will have better pricing and better quality products then Home Depot or Lowes. Whom I would guess buy the cheapest stuff they can find and do a huge markup.

I drove this morning to pick up the china cabinet for my daughter. It cost me $90 and 1/2 tank of gas. It was $80, but I gave the lady an extra $10 because she had packing blankets for me and helped me load it into the truck. Trouble is that it shifted during the ride home and my mother isn't much help when it comes to lifting heavy things, so we have to wait until my brother gets back into the area to unload it.

At least you got it home now.

I found a pair of shoes for red. Too bad he’s not here to enjoy them.

High pain day for the wife so it’s taking her a long time to get going.
Bless her heart. I can so relate to those issues. I was diagnosed in the 90's and at times it is no fun at all.

My wife put on Top Gun to watch. I like the movie ok but have seen it ten times.
Once was enough for me although I liked the music. I am just not a fan of Tom Cruise. I haven't read/seen any of the reviews or ratings on the new Top Gun: Maverick. Are you going to see it?

"Soooo... scales arrived. LB 501 is completely D.O.A out of the box. Wont turn on at all, or atleast the display is dead. SC-501-A seems to work fairly well. I do notice it ignores the occasional drop, so curious if the LB 501 does the same(will have to wait for return process to find out)."

That may be due to the rounding error. If each drop is close to whatever the smallest unit is, then that happens.

Also, on some of these scales, the least significant digit only increments to even digits. For example, the reading may go from 0.00 to 0.02 to 0.04 etc.

And THAT's a deal breaker for me. I'm buying a scale to be precise, not guess or round. Otherwise I could just assume every drop is .03g.

The first thing to ask yourself is why you think you need such precision. You don't need high precision, what you need is scale repeatability.

Most liquids used in vaping solutions weigh roughly 1 gram/ml. Let's assume that they all weigh that amount. Now, say you are making a 10 ml trial sample of a new mixture to see if you like it. That means that the sample will weigh 10 grams and each 1% of the formula would be equal to 0.1 grams.

If your scale reads to 0.01 gram, it is only the final digit that is in doubt - but that digit is relatively immaterial. For example, say you need 2% of a particular solution - which weighs 0.2 grams. So you weigh out liquid to get a reading of 0.20 gram. Your weight is off by, at most, 1/100th of a gram. It is difficult to get that precision with droppers - it really requires precision pipettes, which very few people have or know how to use properly.

If the scale reads to 0.001 gram, that is even better - since now you are off by no more than 1/1000 of a gram (about 1 mg). You are getting into the micro-pipette range.

Make the trial sample larger and the need for precision becomes even less. For example, with a 100 ml sample, 1% is a full gram.

Further, the actual weights/ml vary, sometimes significantly, with the temperatures of the liquids.

    SNIP.
I have already gone at length to explain my issue a few days ago(this led me to buying both the SC-501-A, as well as the LB 501 for an experiment). If you'd like to discuss it with me again feel free PM me and I will elaborate. That said if you choose to PM me I only ask that you read everything in my response before responding. I notice a tendency for people to skim and answer things that were never asked.

I feel old now. Thanks for the memories!

Top Gun: Maverick? Do they make wheelchairs and cane holders that fit in cockpits for the aged fighter pilots? How do they get them in there? :D

I'm no spring chicken, but he isn't either. He'll be the big 60 in July. Tom Cruise - Wikipedia
I guess fighter pilots CAN work until age 60 although they usually don't**, but ....somebody waited too long for a sequel, IMHO.

If she wants to see it then I’ll go but I really don’t care if I see it.
