Good morning folks,
It has been a bit hectic, a couple of days ago the wood splitter died, ie, it split just like the wood usually does. So, I'm a little mechanic.
I have just sorted these and put them in system:

Antiques are interesting everywhere I think.
Oh yes they are. The trick is knowing your specialty area. Most of the time people don't know what they have and you can pick things up for dirt cheap.

Do you remember the old Ransburg glassware, pottery and toleware? They made cookie jars, pitchers, salt and pepper shakers, doughnut jars and other pottery items. Toleware included salt and pepper shakers, breadboxes, sets of tins for flour, sugar etc., wastebaskets, paper towel dispensers, recipe boxes, cake carriers, kleenex dispensers, toilet paper holders etc. etc.

Their pottery and toleware was very popular back in the 50's, 60's and 70's. The glassware was popular in the 30's and 40's.

The designs were hand-painted on each item.

Here are a few items from our Ransburg collection...

For me they are nice to look at but I have no desire to own.

Earlier today I picked up a two pack of Febreze air fresheners to try.

I set one up in the living room. After about an hour the whole house reeked. It was very obnoxious.

Yanked and tossed it in the garbage outside. Now, several hours later, it’s still very obnoxious even with the windows open, a nice breeze and with 12 scented candles going. o_O

OK, what are you trying to accomplish with those air fresheners? Most of them just mask the unwanted odors and do nothing to eliminate them. And they reek, like you said.

If you want to just eliminate the bad ones, like pet smells, use A&H baking soda for carpets and upholstered furniture (before vacuuming). Natural bamboo charcoal packets are also effective--and can be reactivated and reused. In a pinch, Fabreeze fabric and/or air sprays are OK.

If you want a nice smell in the house, I recommend essential oils. I make my own room/linen sprays by combining essential oils (10-15 drops), some emulsifier (a teaspoon or Himalayan salt, or a tablespoon of alcohol, witch hazel, aloe vera juice--I grow my own, etc.) and distilled water in a spray bottle. I love lavender essential oils, but I also make all kinds of other mixes--citrus, myrrh, geranium, you name it. It's fun, natural, and good for you and your pets and your house.

Just looking for a nice pleasant smell in the house for when I'm down here in the city. Lately most of my time has been spent at our place way up in the north woods. My little lady and daughters keep our place smelling real nice up there. Nothing overpowering like the Febreze I tried earlier . I just finished facetiming with them and they're like "dad you azz, look here, this is an oil diffuser". Oh ok, sure. :D

Yes, been using A&H baking soda for carpet and furniture for years. Works great.

Yes, a nice smell in the house. That does sound like fun. I love lavender. My wife used to have lavender growing in our garden. I think the girls have some growing in our garden up there. Not sure, not a flower eggspert! I know buttercups, daisies, roses and some kind of lily things.

    Thanx again. You rock! :thumb:

    Somewhere between here and there
I’m not doing much of anything tonight. I actually had a tough repair job this afternoon. The customer had removed a large switchgear with a plastic cam that activated two opposing micro switches. Took an hour to figure out what they had done and finally got a new switch in it with the cam installed properly and tested it and it was working backwards. Dug back into it and figured out they had also miswired the micro switches.

I’m going to try to use the rest of it up but have decided the sugar momma v2 recipe I found is not getting a remix. I’ve been thinking about mixing a new bottle of orange tart. I really liked it but stopped using it so I didn’t get tired of it.

    Most always a good idea.
