What is proper Golden Syrup?
View attachment 987930
It’s a thick, smooth golden-colored syrup made from cane sugar that has a unique buttery scent and a light caramel flavor. It’s less sweet than, say, corn syrup. It's also called light treacle. Golden syrup ingredients are a simple combination of sugar, water, and a slice of lemon.

Golden Syrup is popular in the UK and elsewhere in the world. Tate and Lyle’s Golden Syrup is the best tasting GS that I know of (Amazon, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Wegmanns).
It's very easy to make at home, too.

Happy Friday, Mixers!

I did venture out for my cheesesteak and also stopped by that vape shop that I hadn't been to in a while.
Not much new from my last visit, though I did pick up a Dead Rabbit 3 rta.

They also have one mech mod that's been there for a while which got my curiosity up a bit.
I've never used a mech, but have thought about one for my apocalypse stash. Not sure that this one would be "it".

It is the Avid Lyfe Timekeeper and is pretty expensive (to me!), uses a hybrid atomizer connection (direct contact to battery), and has a magnetic fire button with crazy strong magnets which some folks have had issues with when disassembling the switch.

It has my attention right now, though it hasn't started haunting my every waking moment.

Yet.

Could still end up dragging me over to the Shinyitis thread though.

Happy to hear you are enjoying a fine birthday!!!

Mechs are still very popular. Not so much here but, as you've seen, over on VU and elsewhere they are very popular. About 3/4's of my in-use mods are mechs. IMO it's very wise to have at least one mech mod in your stash. All regulated mods electronics will eventually fail. Mechs properly cared for and maintained will not. They will outlast us.

The Avid Lyfe Timekeeper is a very nice mech mod. Several of my mechs have a hybrid connection. My OG SMPL is a favorite. For safety, the main thing with a hybrid mech is whatever RBA you connect needs to have a 510 screw that "naturally" extends at least 1mm beyond the 510.

Like so......

Watch this YouTube video on hybrid mech mod safety. Also this one on mech mod safety. As you know with any mech mod - - - you are the only safety check. Making sure your battery wraps are good is the main key for safety as is using the proper battery for your build. Keeping all the connections on a mech mod clean is very important. I clean mine frequently.

This isn't the Shiny thread ...LOL... but I'd say buy that Timekeeper!!!

Thank you, SMT, for your advice and the links.
(Used my first bookmark here for your post)

Another store has a few Purge mechs as well as a couple of mech squonkers, at least they did the last time I was there a few months ago.

Might be a couple of other places I think had one or two as well.

Thanks for the tip, hitt, that is much cheaper than the authentic at a B&M!

Foreign purchases aren't really viable for me at the moment though.
I’ve ordered from 3f a few times and their shipping has been faster than Sourcemore.

I did in fact go back to bed. I was kind of aggravated that I had seen A Discovery of Witches for the first two seasons but the third and final season wasn’t on regular tv so I bought it on Amazon and am watching it.

    Morning, mixers.

Rain continues, but light so far, temp is moderate and winds are also light. Unlike most of the rest of the West... so we'll not complain!

While I do have several mechs in the stash, none are hybrids. I really don't like the direct to battery connection, as some of my tanks (although only two "types" don't have a protruding 510, and too easy to lose track... then again, I also have a mess of Kicks and fuses... ;)

I’m itching for a new recipe but am not thinking of much. It’s sad when you have almost 800 flavors and can’t think of anything to make.
800 flavors, that amazes me. I wouldn't know what to do with that many. WOW!!!!!

Obviously I don’t know what to do with them either. I had an order still in a bag that I never put away from the Chefs clearance sale so just grabbed a handful of them and threw something together. Good or bad it’ll at least be something different from my normal rotation.
