I am always looking for a good tobacco recipe.

The one I tried the other day that I keep raving on about:

3% Signature DK tobacco
3% Signature RY4 Double
3% Signature Pecan
1% FW Dark Chocolate
2% Ethyl Maltol

I sort of adapted this from another recipe, the original said you could vary the ethyl maltol to taste, and that you could use whatever nut flavor you like. It also didn't have the dark chocolate in there, I wanted to try a batch with it to see how it did.

This was awesome about 16 hours after a 1 hour heat steep. Then the nic got peppery. Good thing I have a batch steeping naturally. It was to me what a tobacco vape "should" taste like. Sweet but not overly so, nutty, with a dark richness. Like a good aromatic pipe tobacco smells. For some reason plain old tobacco flavor doesn't at all remind me of tobacco. This did.

Just asking are you heating your mix with nic already added in??

That's what I did, yes. When I got the peppery taste I did rethink the wisdom of that. But I've also been told that if you keep the temperature at or below 120 F (I heated at 140, before I'd seen that) that your nic won't degrade. So I'm sort of trying to decide how to go about it if I try the heat again. Problem right now is that I only have 36 mg nic base at this time, and I normally vape 36 mg. So I've just been adding flavor directly to nic base without diluting. Next purchase is probably going to be some stronger nic base, I guess you can get that from somewhere like Nicotine River (ECX only went up to the 36 mg from what I was able to find).

Yea get a stronger nic base, heartland vapes or nic river sells 100mg nic.
Ok try this instead with the cap off put it in the microwave for 5 seconds and see how that works until you get a stronger nic.

At 36mg the nic difference is negligible even with 20% flavoring added. Next time you buy nic I would buy 100mg. Easy to work with and will last longer.

@PJReid Did you ever mix your Cranberry Pomegranate Champagne Fizzer?

No, I am still waiting for one more Pom flavor for that. I did do something similar with the Gin Breeze recipe - make it fizzy with FW Pink Champagne and I do like it. It is the same general idea and has no lemon, which might suit you better. As soon as my other Pom flavors get here, I will mix up the Cranberry Pom Champagne Sparkler.

Fizzy Gin Breeze
Gin (FA) 2.5%
Lime Tahiti (Cold Pressed) (FA) 0.5%
Lime Tahiti (Distilled) (FA) 0.5%
Pink Champagne (FW) 2%
Pomegranate (FA) 2.5%
Ruby Red Grapefruit (Natural) (FW) 1.75%
Sugarloaf Pineapple (VTA) 1%
WS-23 30% 0.75%

I am enjoying this one a lot!

Also made up a batch of FIzzy Sea Breeze using FLV Pink Guava for the grapefruit flavor. The grapefruit flavor really does come through since Pink Guava is rather strong. I will side by side test it with the one made with FW Ruby Red Grapefruit to see which I like better, but taste is subjective and the Pink Guava gets it done. :) I will cut the Pink Guava back to maybe 1.5% and use a combo next time but this is very good and I am enjoying it a lot. Just trying for perfect. LOL Maybe 1% FLV Pink Guava and 1.75% FW Ruby Red or FA Grapefruit (tarter.)

Fizzy Sea Breeze V2
Cranberry (TPA) 2.75%
Lime Tahiti (Cold Pressed) (FA) 0.5%
Lime Tahiti (Distilled) (FA) 0.25%
Pink Champagne (FW) 2%
Pink Guava (Flavorah) 2.75%
Russian Vodka (VTA) 2%
WS-23 30% 0.75%

@PJReid What can I add or change here?

VT Sorbit 1.5%
Koolada 1%
TFA Blackberry 1%
TFA Blueberry Extra 1.5%
TFA Raspberry 1%
VT Russian Vodka 1.5%

What do you not like about it? I use TFA Raspberry Sweet in Too Cool. My Too Cool %s are:
Blackberry (TPA) 2%
Blueberry Wild (TPA) 4%
Cotton Candy (10% EM/Ethyl Maltol) (TPA) 0.75%
Raspberry (Sweet) (TPA) 3%
WS-23 30% 0.75% or Koolada 1%

I know you don't want to use EM and the VTA Sorbet should give it some body and texture. Maybe you are a little low on the berries? It is pretty perfect the way I mix it for all who have tasted it. I haven't gotten around to mixing it up with VTA Vodka yet, but that should be a great addition based on the recipes I where I have added Vodka. I have been using 2% VTA Vodka.

I am side by side testing the Fizzy Sea Breeze recipes, one with FW Ruby Red Grapefruit and the other with FLV Pink Guava ( which tastes like grapefruit) and I like the one with Pink Guava more personally. I still think I will try dialing back the Pink Guava and using a mix of Ruby Red and Pink Guava. All Pink Guava might win because that stuff is magical!

Thanks!'ll.have to give it a try. Not big on ry4s but I'll get a little bottle of flavoring to see how I like it. I try to stay far enough ahead on tobacco that I can let them steep a month with no heat.

Pink Guava going on my wishlist.ASAP. Thank you again.

Tomorrow will be my mixing day and I plan to do the Fizzy Gin breeze but I'll have to use my only grapefruit which is FA

I just had my son side by side test the two versions and he likes the one made with Ruby Red Grapefruit better. He says that he picks up banana in the Pink Guava. Taste really is subjective.

I actually subbed caramel in the original recipe for the RY4 Double, so you can use caramel if that suits you better. I forgot to mention that part earlier. I used the RY4 since it's got a strong...caramelness?...to it, but it's got some tobacco to it too. Just wanted to see how it did comparatively.

I could never like ry4 double Just something about the taste I really dislike. Hangsen Ry3 is my favorite mixer.

In the thread back a couple of weeks when I was looking to get into DIY and wanted to get pointed to some good recipes, I described a juice that I'd tried once that I really enjoyed and haven't been able to find again. And someone saw the description and said "Oh, that's RY4 Double". So I thought I should get it. Well I tried the RY4D on its own and it isn't it precisely, and I don't know if I'd vape it on its own regularly. But if I'm going to be able to replicate that flavor then it does seem like the RY4D could be a component. In any case I was able to make a good juice that had it in there.

    What's the RY3 like?

Bet I know who said that. We may can help tweak it to get closer to what you want. You tried it on its own, can you describe the flavor thats missing?

I'm sorry but I'm just not great at describing flavors. I don't like Hangsen Ry4 but I do like the Ry3. It has a good tobacco taste. Years ago when I was trying to find a tobacco flavor that hubs liked all I could find were FA and TFA tobacco flavors and he didn't like any of them Then I found the Hangsen flavors and hit paydirt. He likes all I have got except for the Ry4. Hangsen Fortune Strike is my other mixer. All I can say is try a Hangsen flavor or two and see how you like them.
