Morning, mixers.

Nice weather continues here, low 70s and cloudy :) Although little to no rain expected.

Nothing specific on the agenda, for a change. Oh, yeah, yard work.

I'm trying to get used to short pants. I hardly wore them when I worked as I was on call 24/7. Threw out the steel toe boots too. :)

Cigarette butts are one of the most common types of litter throughout the world. According to the CDC, cigarette butts are “the largest single type of litter by count and their filters do not biodegrade.”
It’s been that way for years. Glad I don’t help with that litter anymore.

I had a plan that didn’t work out great. I got a pkg of 2 steaks with the plan to have one tomorrow and one Friday. Then it was my plan to cook a roast with veggies in the crockpot for Saturday and have the leftovers for Sunday. Well,I couldn’t find a decent roast. I now have a second chance to find a roast. Gd is going to take me to a different store Sat. where I can hopefully find the roast I want.

Now I need to know which roast you want.

Hoping to find a decent Bottom Round.
I'm lucky, there's an authentic old style butcher's shop just up the road. Been there for many decades. They will cut the meat to your specifications. We don't eat much red meat though.

You are lucky. I love red meat.

Same here. You just ask for what you want, and it gets cut. The owner of the store is my second cousin. It was started by his father, my mom's cousin. They also run a grocery store, but they are too expensive for routine shopping, but handy if I need anything between my trips to wallyworld. I do like buying their smoked cheese and summer sausage. In fact, I might just go get some today.

Day 3 of VBS done. Some of the kids are finished with their first rosary. I have one girl that is halfway done with her 3rd one. They all should be done with at least one by the end of the week.
Wonder what the fast one will have done by the end of the week.

Turn the leftover roast into a pot pie :) That happens a lot around here, premade crusts makes it easy. So we'll have the roast one night, and pot pie for the next 3 (just the two of us, cut in sixths.) Add some more veggies and bake.

Certainly an idea but since it’s just me I’ll go with the simple leftovers.

I'm surprised there wasn't one at the store you went to. That's a standard cut.

You people who live near old-school butchers are lucky ducks.
The overall choice was poor which was odd. It wasn’t our normal shopping day either.
