Hey kids. I’m getting back into mixing but I’m worried about the over 250 flavors I have and if they are expired or not. They are at least a few years old at this point.

Any rule of thumb as to how to tell if the flavors are still any good or not? My larger flavor containers have been kept in the salad/veggie refrigerator drawers. The smaller flavor containers have been kept in a dark closet but not necessarily very cool.

I figure the worst case scenario is if they are kaput then I can just “slowly” replace the more common flavors and leave the more exotic ones for another day.

It’d be a bummer to lose so many cool flavors though although I really didn’t use them in many recipes.

If I do need to purchase more I think I’ll be a little bit more selective this time around lol!

Fortunately I have 7 liters of nicotine all in the freezer. The multiple containers of ph and VG have been kept in a very dark and very cool storage room in the basement so I’m going to assume that they will be ok.
If you have any thoughts and suggestions please pass them on to me.

Thanks in advance and I’m looking forward to mixing with you all again. It’s been too long!!

Don't think there's a simple answer to how flavours age. After just a couple of years my big bottle of TFA French Vanilla turned dark and tasted rotten. It was just sitting on a shelf in my office though. I have others that are much older and still fine. From what I've picked up over the years here flavors going bad are the exception rather than the rule. Don't know how you could figure out which ones are bad without trying them.

I have been vaping for almost 14 years and mixing for almost 13. Of course I didn't have many flavors when I started mixing. It took a long time to get to how many I have now. I have never had a flavor go bad. Of course flavors get used up and new ones bought also.

Lots of Mangos. Do I have those? If not it's ok not to send if you don't have much.
Creamy Pango V2.0 and Mangoria are in the MyRecipes_4 file and Dango and Mango Knights are in MyRecipes5.
    :)

Edit: All of them are posted here in Random as well, sort of - Creamy Pango V1 is in one post and my changes for V2 are in another.
    (All are works in progress!)

Does she have any source of heat at all?
She has an ancient gas stove in her basement (which she's running sparingly), a old Coleman heater of my mother's, and a small propane heater of mine. The last misbehaved--or so she thought--overnight, which scared her and made me furious since it's only a couple of years old and has barely been used, but she talked to a guy at the company where we get our propane and fuel oil, and he reassured her it was okay, so she got it up and running again. With those three, she'll be able to keep her house warm enough for the likes of us (we all set our thermostats to the low fifties in the winter). She also ran a lot of extension cords from my mother's house to hers, so she's been able to keep her chest freezer running. In other words, she'll be fine, but it's all very stressful. She's going to collapse once the lights come back on, I'd wager.

That's a lot to deal with. I hope she gets power soon.
