I have several new fruit recipes going. I'm happy with all of them now except for blackcurrant.
Started off trying to make blackcurrant meringue which was supposedly the basis of a premixed flavoring I liked in the past. Slowly reduced the meringue all the way down to zero. Figured out I don't like meringue. Replaced that with vanilla but that didn't work for me either. It's possible I have too much blackcurrant in it or one of the blackcurrants doesn't agree with me.
Did a bit of research and tried again from scratch with Cap Sugar Cookie (first time I've used that) and SSA Whipped cream. It's only a few days old now but it smells very nice in the bottle. Has anyone here tried making a blackcurrant flavor?
Current recipe is 2% each of SSA, WF and FA blackcurrants, SSA Whipped Cream and CAP Sugar Cookie. Thoughts welcome.
Apart from that I got a new computer game after a longish break from games. Actually it's an old one from 2005 called Halo which I played when it first came out, they just released an upgraded legacy version. Got the first 6 games in the series for $9 in a Steam sale. It's the first shooter type game I've played in almost 20 years. Geez it's hard. I'm slowly making progress on the easiest setting but keep dying or running out of ammo. And I keep accidentally killing off the Marine squads who are there to help me. Maybe my reflexes are slowing down with age or something. Or maybe it was this hard when I first played it.
