I like DIY, but it sure gets taxing after awhile when you're a picky ...... like myself and cant find something you enjoy vaping.I prefer mellow flavors, stuff that's too strong is an instant nope .. and unflavored feels too boring... ugh, the struggle

Aww...don't get down on yourself with DIY.......yet. You're still just getting your feet wet, so to speak. It sometimes takes awhile to hit upon that first truly wonderful eliquid that you made yourself. We've all been there before. Once you find that first 1 though, it's all worth the effort you expended to find it.
Since you like mellow flavors, the WF Hazelnuts & Cream that I recommended to you about a week and 1/2 ago, should be a good one for you. I know you posted Monday afternoon that you'd gotten it. Have you made some of it yet?
I did - tried it at 4%, was super strong, 2% and then 1%. Even 1% seems really strong to me
Wow, you must really be a super taster! Even mine made singly at 6% isn't a strong flavoring to my "buds". What I've made in the 120mL batch seems to have gotten a little stronger to me though...when I pull another 30mL off to vape it for the week.
Might be worth you trying it in a mix though, as you said. With your sense of taste...you'll really get your money's worth, no matter what size flavorings you buy, because they'll go so far for you. That's a good thing for sure!
I only used 1%. I found a review that suggested 2 drops in 30ml. I didn't believe it but thinking of trying 1 drop in 10ml.I had the same reaction to HS vanilla ice cream. I tried it in a mix that I'd previously used cap vanilla bean ice cream. I just found the HS really malty. It's on my sft list as I used 2% which may've been the problem
Hope that works good for you.I read that this afternoon!
I settled earlier on 2% in the recipe I want to mix (Vaperol Spritz), instead of 4% FA Orange. Seems about right.
I took me about 7 of my mixing years to lose my taste for high flavor mixes. It happened all at once too so I was scrambling to cut my %'s down....a lot. Most all my mixes are under 10% now.I don't know if I'm a super taster, but I've never liked super strong flavors in anything, really ... except coffee - if that's not strong, then I'm not a fun person to be around haha. I am noticing that a lot of the recipes I see, I have to reduce their percentages by at least 1/2 or usually, more .. so I've been trying to keep total flavors at less than 4-5% ... which means I probably can't do any of those super complex recipes, but that's ok since I prefer simple.

I tried to vape the vendor juice I had left but just couldn't. I ended up piffing it.Same here. I just vape unflavored mostly and when I want flavor I just add a squirt of juice made at recommended flavors to my unflavored tank. It works for me and gives me a hint of flavor that's about right.
Commercial juices are way over flavored for the most part.
Malty is like eggy or????I had the same reaction to HS vanilla ice cream. I tried it in a mix that I'd previously used cap vanilla bean ice cream. I just found the HS really malty. It's on my sft list as I used 2% which may've been the problem
I wouldn't say so. It was a rather unpleasant taste. I mixed at 1% and I think I need to at least cut that in half.Malty is like eggy or????
I don’t think “malt” is a Southern thing, outside of malted milkballs which I like. I’m just not sure what that tastes like.I wouldn't say so. It was a rather unpleasant taste. I mixed at 1% and I think I need to at least cut that in half.
I like Malted Milk Balls too. I think it's just a matter of knocking down the flavor %.I don’t think “malt” is a Southern thing, outside of malted milkballs which I like. I’m just not sure what that tastes like.
I got FA Malted Milk because I know a small amount of malted milk powder in dessert making adds a nice je ne sais quoi, and I'm hoping that carries over into mixing. Someday I'll find out, I guess.I don’t think “malt” is a Southern thing, outside of malted milkballs which I like. I’m just not sure what that tastes like.
i should have gotten more than 2....I was at a dollar store (there's none around where I live) for work and found these little plastic "toolboxes" managed to get over half of my flavors into one of them (15ml bottles) the other one I threw some of my premade store bought juices in....now i'm kicking myself for not getting more...for a buck couldn't say no...they're like about a foot long and 1/2 foot wide and 1/2 foot deep....I can easily fit 2x120ml bottles in them laying longways and a 2oz with dropper cap in laying down, could maybe fit a 2oz bottle with normal cap on standing up.
