We have yellow jackets on our property, also. Those little yellow yellow jacket traps sold at Ace Hardware are your friend. They helped tremendously on our property. Once the little packet is used up, just use Apple juice in the trap and they flock to it. Keep one armed and ready in the Spring and Summer and your YJ problem will disappear. I've seen the trap 3 inches deep in drowned Yellow Jackets. They go in and can't get out, so they stack up inside and wither away. The entrance is a cone shaped hole. They enter the big end and crawl inside. To exit through the small end they have to fly up to get into it and their wings won't fit while they are fluttering.
Never knew we had them until I was showing my son how to mow. We weren’t too close to the house but they’ll definitely have to be dealt with. there’s so many! Luckily, I can run and ran for the house as fast as possible. I still sustained 15 stings. I must say, I NEVER knew they’re so painful! First 24-48 I stayed covered with icepacks. That helped tremendously but wowza, SO much acute pain AND burning! The pain just doesn’t stop but gets weaker and weaker slowly. I’m sure mine probably wasn’t typical, having so many. But regardless, they hurt!!! I missed one and didn’t ice initially. So that ones the size of a soft ball. To make matters worse, it's on my hiney:eek: It hurts to sit, lay down, walk... everything. Though the discomfort is significantly better today. Just got me sorta grumpy and not the best company. I must say though, my 15 yr old son has been such a doll taking care of me. He’s just great! At one point I developed fever and became dehydrated and had to go receive care. Came back yesterday feeling somewhat better after fluids and all. Now taking a steroid pack. It hasn’t been fun but I survived! Thanks for sharing about traps! They sound awesome!

Started feeling some better yesterday and significantly better today. Just uncomfortable and one of the 15 stings is still causing a great deal of discomfort. Thank you!
That one sting is in a very uncomfortable spot. Hope it improves a bit more quickly.

I am back among the land of the living... I have finished my reorganization. As promised here are a few photos of what 369 concentrates look like, when a basic, no-nonsense, inventory control system is applied:

The desiginators are based on box (number), row (alphabet), position (number; left to right). So "1-B-07;" is telling me the concentrate is located in box #1, in row B (the second row), seventh bottle from the left (which happens to be TFA Brown Sugar).

Each box is only 12" W x 12" D x 3" H. That means all my concentrates take up less than 1 cubic foot of space

The only "sorting" that was done was by bottle size. But, because of the locator system, I will never have to rearrange, and I can always place my hands on any given bottle in less than 5 seconds.

Total cost of materials was less than $30.

As a side note: I seem to be 50 pages behind in this thread. I ask for your patience, kindness, and understanding, as I try to catch up.:rolleyes:

LOL...I just spent 2-3 minutes looking for a flavor only to realize that I'd put it where it belongs.
    You sound like me!

I worked with/for a man while in my early 20's. His standard quip (to me) was "you'd be a great man... if you could keep up with your tools!" I had a habit of setting them down instead of returning them to my tool pouch. I don't know what it was, why I couldn't simply put it back, where I got it. But, to this day, I am constantly in search of where I last left (fill in the blank).:facepalm::facepalm:

Any mixing ,tasting or whatever plans today, folks? I did manage to get an early morning mix done. It's a boozy grapefruity mix. Sounded good but who knows. Hope to get the baccy blend done also.
I've got so much "new;" I don't know where to start. I have basil, cucumber, a wide range of booze, and a plethora of grapefruit. And, that's not counting the 6 Stixx Mixx, and 11 VTA concentrates, that are completely new to me.

I'm the kid at Christmas, that got everything they wanted, and doesn't know what to play with first!

Yep; I have 15mL of the Pink Guava, based on the conversations in this thread. And, six of the Stixx Mixx:
made up of 5 tobacco ( Aged Burley, Whiskey Cavendish, Havana Primed, American Virginian, and Nicaraguan Seco), as well as Turner's Tea.
