    Somewhere between here and there
My experiment was quite successful, IMO. After mixing with the VTA Fuji Red Apple, I think they nailed the flavor pretty well. I have revised my notes to reflect my new opinion and will post those notes to the VTA thread. A Fuji apple is the sweetest of all the red apples. It was bred to be sweet and crisp. It is a hybrid of the Red Delicious and old Virginia Ralls Genet - Red Delicious for the sweetness and Virginia Rails Genet for the crisp flesh with a pear-like texture. The VTA Fuji Red Apple lacks the harshness that is sometimes present in a mix made with FA Fuji. It is also juicier than FA Fuji or JF Fuji.

VTA Granny Smith Apple is excellent. It is tart-sweet, bright, crisp, and fresh with a juicy mouthfeel.

My favorite mix is the one with VTA Fuji and VTA Granny Smith. If you want a bit more red apple than green in the mix, up the VTA Fuji to 3%.
    Cranberry (TPA) 7%
    Fuji Red Apple (VTA) 2%
    Granny Smith Apple (VTA) 2%
    Lemon (FE) .5%
    WS-23 30% .75%

The mix of VTA Fuji and VTA Green Apple is lovely too. VTA Green Apple is definitely more tart than their Granny Smith, but it lacks the crisp, bright freshness. I do like it though. I mixed this on Sunday and the Green Apple needs 12 days or so to reach maximum tartness but it is tart from the SNV. I used the same percentages as above, subbing VTA Green Apple for the Granny Smith.

In my third test, I used JF Fuji and VTA Granny Smith Apple at the above percentages. That Granny Smith Apple makes a big difference in the mix. It is fresher, brighter, and has a juicy tang.

I won't be throwing out my other Fuji apples but will probably buy VTA Fuji when I need to restock. I will replace the INW Two Apples I have been using in my mix with VTA Granny Smith. Sure do wish I hadn't mixed up 240mls of the old recipe to take back East with me. :) I will make as much as I can of the same recipe, adding back in the Molinberry Shape Up Pear because I like the extra juice and texture it brings, with VTA Fuji and VTA Granny Smith. I think I will save the Green Apple for more experiments when I get back to the Pacific NW at the end of October.

Thanks for sharing. It looks like there’s three more flavors I need to add to my wishlist.

Ok, so I thought hangsen was HS. So is it HA, HG, or HS?:D
HS is the most common (accepted?) abbreviation I see from vendors(BCF), forums(ECF, Reddit, Vu), and recipe sites(ELR, ATF). Old(er) Abbreviation lists I have been able to find all list it as HS.
Picked up HG from elr. Since that's where my stash and calculator is I usually stick with their abbreviations. One of the members is trying to straighten out all the variations for each brand/flavor to make it more cohesive and less confusing. He's my hero, that's taking on a lot of work.

That's odd. Is that a ELR "forum" thing? On their recipe side, the most common usage for Hangsen concentrates is fully spelled out (as in: "Italian Cream (Hangsen)"). "(HS)" is next most common (though significantly less. In fact; ELR only has three concentrates that are using the "(HG)" manufacturer abbreviation, with a whopping 1 recipe total:

These are all Heavens Gifts concentrates (vs. Hansen).

On a side note; looking at your flavor stash, I noticed all your Hangsen concentrates are listed as "(Hansen)," except your Pineapple. The pineapple is listed as "Pineapple HS." That listing has only 7 recipes attached to it; vs. 463 recipes attached to "Pineapple (Hangsen). You might want to swap that one out. It will give you more possible results when using the "what can I make" feature.;)

You are of course right. My recipes have HS. Not sure where I got the HG from, probably poor memory. My original stash listings are from before I learned how to list the flavors. Had to ask how they wanted me to list the DIYFS flavors. Pita but they are trying to consolidate it all. Hopefully the stash feature will eventually only allow one way to enter any given flavor. Confusing for even the experienced.

Thanks all for all the suggestions. I only want a few of them, but the husband is used to NETs now, so I figure I may give it a shot and see how it goes. He is paying for them and selecting them (LOL as a "household" I realize this is a false economy) but well he doesn't vape enough (at least yet) to make things crazy expensive. He will ALSO be buying more nicotine if I can make a mix that meets his "exacting standards," which like, sheesh, without the tastebuds to deal with tobacco juices, like I have HIGH doubts. I'll be reading percentage instructions and mixing up 52 testers I think, etc.

Oh my I wish mixing made me feel "productive." It kind of reminds me of using an easybake or tastybake oven (whichever it is called I don't remember my parents would not get me one they said it was a gender toy) well, when I got my hands on one through a neighborhood friend who took pity on me occasionally, but like, it was so much fun when I finally got my hands on it and it took 3 hours to make one cookie.

Also, my parents can just SHUT UP on the "gender based" crud, because when my mom got real sick when I was 12 and was in the hospital and then recuperating it was NOT my older brother doing the family household cooking it was ME so frankly I wouldn't have minded a Barbie or two to console myself with.

So much for gender crap stuff. One Christmas when I was 9ish I asked for an Easy Bake Oven and GI Joe with his Jeep. I got both lol  I have pics of me in a little dress with a bow in my hair on Xmas morning playing with my GI Joes lol. My poor mother. Lol! She was probably like what did I do when I adopted this one  !!!!

View attachment 769591 My strawberry cheesecake didn’t come out very cheese cakey :nah: Here’s the recipe I used but without the acetyl stuff.
Do you have FW yogurt or RF SC cream cheese? Either would add some cheese notes. I'll let you know how the INW yes we cc is, supposed to be cheesy.

I have the FW yogurt. I’ve been hearing a lot about the INW Cheesecake. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

Add 2-3% of the yogurt and let it sit for about 10 days and give it a taste. Can't remember my steep time for that yogurt but wasn't too long. Cheesier than TFA greek.

Took me a bit to figure out too. Now, when I have to add a new flavor to my stash, I don't use the "add ingredient" feature in the my stash window. Instead, I use the Flavor List, and search in the following manner:
-- Enter the full flavor concentrate name exactly as it appears on the bottle/website, making sure to spell it correctly (and add no manufacturer info, vendor info, purchase date, bottle size, etc).
    -- Hit "Search"
-- Sort the results by clicking on the Recipes header. (this brings most commonly used to the top)
-- Scroll down to the first listing of the correct manufacturer (full name, or abbreviation).
-- Click on the ingredient; and then read the description, to verify that I indeed have the correct ingredient.
-- If all looks good; click on the "add to my flavor stash" located near the top.

So far (fingers crossed), I have not made any incorrect choices.:D

No, I had not. I just finished it now. Thanks for sharing!:wub:

I spend little time on ELR in general; and virtually no time in their forums. ECF is my home. As such, I doubt I ever would have read that, had you not directed me to it. Very informative. Thanks again.:D
