I think the shortcake-and-cream base would go well with berries in general, and other fruit as well. I could see mixing up a bunch of the base, steeping that, and then adding fruit at will/whim.

Going to try it with raspberry instead of strawberry and maybe a boysenberry/raspberry mix.

Brilliant idea to mix the base up separately for steeping - you get a gold star :thumb:

Has anyone tried the graham cracker custard recipe yet? I’m not sure how long to steep it and I’m itching to try it. Maybe I’ll get out the berry berry good I mixed to pacify myself until the graham cracker custard is ready.

I steeped for 2 weeks both times I mixed it.

@FranC — I resolved the Graham Cracker so will not be needing FW GC. Thanks again — appreciate your offer.

Won’t rule out my taste buds coming around but do find it strange. Before dripping the RY4, my Nano still had some of the previous juice in it’s wicks….was still muted. Going to ponder over my notes, see if there is something off with my previous mixes cause this is just too much of a drastic change to point the finger at my taste buds. But guess anything is possible.

May I ask you to post your recipe as well as how long you steeped.

I don’t remember which juice was in the Nano prior to re-wicking. One of the few that wasn’t working for me. But the RY4 (if that is what you are inquiring about) is just a 5ml sample of 6% TFA RY4, 50/50, 6mg. Shaken then vaped right away. Full of flavour and moist, just how I like it!

Glad the TFA RY4 is working out for you. It is suppose to be one of the better RY4. I like FA RY4 which is what I use and one I can taste at 4% in a blend. I also use JF RY4 which is more dessert-like at least for me.

    Could be good??
Yes, to me... but I love homemade peach ice cream. I can remember all us kids taking turns turning the handle on my grandmother’s old ice cream maker waiting for it to freeze solid.

Someone asked for the recipe and I posted it for them without noting it is ceecee's recipe which is causing all the confusion
It’s entirely possible you gave her full credit and I missed it. I had a bunch of recipes I transcribed into my notes in a rush, with the name of the person who posted it when I screenshot it noted to the side.
That I somehow mashed up two recipes to make one... probably because I had a big bottle of the milkshake base already steeped. Y’all know patience is NOT my virtue ;)

Guess we can rule out wrong numbers then. One down. I really get the feeling its not so much the amount of flavor. Adding more flavor doesnt always boost the flavor. Almost every flavor made has a top amount and anything past that starts going the other way. If you like commercial juice about the only thing is % and sweetener. Have you tried something bright like keylime?
If you have a good key lime recipe, I’d love one, or several :).

I originally posted that recipe but can't even lay claim to it as it is one of Ella's (on ELR) that I tweaked to my liking. :)
I can only rename something so many times!!! Sorry, but it’s yours now according to my recipe file on ELR. Don’t worry, it’s private.... so, it’s our little secret. I really just use it as a reminder in case I ever have a question about a recipe.

I found her original recipe to be a bit heavy on flavor for my liking. I lowered all the percentages and hit pay dirt! I vaped so much of this stuff I hardly make it anymore.

I have real problem with flavor fatigue. I'm constantly chasing my "next ADV".

I do have one recipe that I've been vaping daily for over 2 years now. I mix that up as a one-shot so I can quickly make up 50ml bottles of it. It's a Strawberry Shortcake recipe that I simply call "Tazzle's One Shot" after a mixer here that first posted the base that makes it up. I miss Tazzle, haven't seen her around these parts in a long time now :(
Would you share the recipe, if I promise to give Tazzle credit?

It’s not that I like commercial juices (well actually I do!), but this is all that I have vaped, therefore this is all that I know so it has become my benchmark to which others will be compared against. I purposely picked highly rated and popular DIY recipes for I felt I would increase my chances on finding something that I may enjoy. I was open enough to accept that these recipes may not meet my preferences, but I was at the very least expecting enough flavour out of them in order make that evaluation. And that ain’t happin’

Yes, willing to try something a bit more bright and do have TFA Key Lime. In fact, I am willing to share my stash of flavours if the wonderful users of ECF would like to throw a recommended mix or 2 my way.

I’m s bit skeptical about the recipe ratings on elr. Unless there are A LOT of reviews on a particular recipe I take the reviews with a grain of salt.

Nope, 3avape had them super cheap so I ordered one to try. Wish now I had gone somewhere else.
3avape is suuuuuper slow. After two orders that took forever, I decided $5 or $10 savings wasn’t worth the aggravation.

Just an experiment. Make a small bottle of 8% keylime. Nothing else. Just shake it and vape. Is it dull and flat? Add 1-2% sweetener and try again. Just humor me
    Just humor me
 I say that all the time to my girls when I already know the answer is, I am correct ;).

Another success! Whip up 5ml with 8% TFA Key Lime at 50/50 with 6mg of nic. Very potent aroma, my whole place smells of Key Lime which has sparked the cats interest (she is strange!). Shaked and vaped. Flavour is strong but found it to be very perfumey (is that a word). So added about 1% FA sweetener and it turned out really nice. Reminds me of a lemon lime soda, one of the cheaper unknown brands that I can’t put my finger on. But very good flavour with a nice lime aftertaste that lingers. Really like it.

Looked through my notes and for the life of me can’t figure out where I went wrong with my previous mixes. As mentioned, some have a high flavour %, some do not. Perhaps the scale was off somehow which threw everything askew….don’t know…I’m grasping here.

It’s late and the cat is giving me that “why are you not in bed so I can terrorize” look. Have a busy day tomorrow mixin’. And again, thank you all who responded – very much appreciated.

I was grasping when I kept asking about your numbers. Just didnt make sense. Thats why I ask you to make that. I knew it was vapable and wouldnt waste much flavoring and simple enough it would be hard to mess up. Maybe something was set at .1 instead of 1 if that makes sense. Either way it seems to have worked now so welcome to DIY.

I don't think Tazzle would want to take credit for that recipe - she posted the original by NotCharlesManson and I ran with it
At the time I had no idea it would turn into a long running ADV for me.
