Yeah, lots has happened for sure. Just the home stretch now.... I am super happy the husband is finding "happiness" in Douglas. I love it there, and it is just great, but I have figured out why. It reminds me of Bethesda, Maryland where I lived as a kid.
It actually is nothing like that most of the houses AND the town park are huge, and there are gigantic trees. But if you factor in the scale of, oh, being say four, it works.
It really is the best and you are right you lot HUGE changes for me. After tipping the movers that much I felt bad for the kid and sent him 100 dollars..... Just because a) could and b) he is on a fairly tight budget at the moment.
As I signed my text "Love, Mom" I realized I have now become the kind of "young adult" Mom where they like, the person you call in extremis and whatnot. Although the kid stays in touch, it made me a bit sad.
I still think some foster kids would be GREAT occasionally, but the husband would FREAK and also I'd wind up adopting them and I'd die when they were 12 or something. Well, maybe not.
The dog did not die in the husband's absence, I tended to his needs. I even had to CALL about his needs as the dog is high maintenance. I bet I could foster a kid.
Maybe not NOW.
