I didnt see it. Sorry, Im always behind on this and never quite catch up
RTAs for me as well. My sfts, and "brand new" mixes are in 15 ml batches, and my RTAs are mostly KF2Ls with a few Skylines, so 15 ml gives me 3+ tanks. One fill is after a short steep, how short varies with the flavors. And I'll let them steep more before a refill.
Since the topper will have some impact on the flavor, I like to test with the equipment it will be normally used in.
(Then again, I usually have about a dozen mods going at all times, so it's also easy to let that new mix steep in the tank)
Thank you! This is very comforting.Since you're in full disclosure mode...I'll disclose that unlike many others on here, I've never done a single flavor test before using 1 in an eliquid sample test batch. I just do Bill's 100DTT (100 drop taste test) on any recipe I'm making for the first time and/or on any recipes I make up from scratch. So far, I've only made 1 eliquid that wasn't vape worthy and pleasing to my tastes. That was when I was making another 50mL batch of Key Lime Pie and forgot to shake the TFA Key Lime flavoring before using it. BLAH!!! It was the most bitter, nasty stuff I'd ever tried. It went down the porcelain throne.
So, you and Shadav won't be alone, if you don't do sft's. But you can still make perfectly tasty eliquids.![]()

Good vape, but I don't like the small capacity.
Thank you! This is very comforting.
But what, pray tell, is this magical 100DTT and how does one conduct it?

The INW Shisha Orange is supposed to be good. Just got mine and haven't done sft yet.Oh, and while I'm here, I don't have FA Orange. Which of the following would be the best substitute for it?
FE Orange
FW Natural Orange
FW Natural Blood Orange
FA Blood Orange
FA Royal Orange
INA (or should that be INW?) Shisha Orange
I tried that a couple times way back when but it was just a PITA to me. I don't care for counting drops at all.JCinFLA will be along, I'm sure, but I'll answer that for you.
The 100 drop test is simple. 100 drops is about 5ml size. You can take a recipe and make a small sample without lots of complicated math. 5ml is enough for a tank full on most full sized atomizers.
1 drop is 1% of 100 drops, so if your recipe calls for 5% flavor, you add 5 drops to the mix. Same for nic, PG, and VG. When you get through adding you should have 5ml or 100 drops total.
That and bottom fill. Lazy, yes. But bottom fill on a larger tank wouldn’t be so bothersomeMy Dogs stay in the doghouse

I use the FW natural blood orange and the INW shisha orange the most. The INW seems more whole orange and less just juice to meOh, and while I'm here, I don't have FA Orange. Which of the following would be the best substitute for it?

You're welcome.
The 100DTT is a method of making a very small 100 drop sample, tweaking it and making note of any changes to it, test vaping a few more drops, tweaking and taking notes, etc., until you get the sample to taste exactly like you want your finished eliquid to taste. By adjusting the recipe flavoring %, to account for changes you made note of during the test...you'll have a revised recipe to make your regular size batches.
In a nutshell...each 1 drop of ingredients represents 1% of the total ingredients. Works like a charm for me, and for others who still use it from what I've heard. That's why I still use it for any new-to-me recipe and for those I create.
Here's a link to Bill's Magic Vapor's Blog. The test is described in a section of it. His Blog also includes lots of invaluable hints, tips, possible corrections for problems DIYers have with an eliquid they've made, as well as many of his recipes. Be advised though, that he used to be a commercial eliquid maker and as such, subscribed to the high total flavoring % idea...because gear was older then and not as efficient, and smokers needed HTF because their "buds" were very dulled. I now usually make any of his recipes at 1/2 of the % shown in them.

Interesting. But would 100DTT method not assume all droppers, or drippers, dispense the same amount per drop? Isn’t that what measuring by weight mitigates against?
Thank you both, I had forgotten about this.
Unless I am missing something, I don't see a lot of counting drops. Tell me if I am wrong but for 3mg nic and one flavor, I would just count 3 drops nic and 5 drops of the flavoring then fill the 5ml bottle with vg/pg. If I have pre-mixed the pg/vg, I don't need to count that since a 5ml bottle is about 100 drops.
