@ChelsB ---> oh I see you are up! Any questions? Got all those flavors?
Wow, I am pages and pages behind where this thread is in real time.
@ChelsB What your looking for in a watermelon vape won't happen with watermelons alone.
Have you tried different combinations of watermelons together? There are times a single flavor company's flavor is inadequate on it's own. You need to add a different flavor company's same or similar flavor in order to build the one single flavor you are after. Sometimes you need to add a third and even a fourth. All depends.
Example: Take that one watermelon you felt was the best of the watermelon flavors you have then start adding in another at a lower % and work up to taste. Once you have two you are semi satisfied with then tweak to taste. If still not what you desire add a third watermelon etc until you are satisfied. This requires patience. Then you can start building a more "complete" recipe with other flavors.
What watermelons do you have?
Here you go, I put this together from looking at flavors I have:
FA Watermelon 4%
FLV Wild Melon 0.25 - 0.50%
INW Melon 0.50% (possibly up to 1%)
FA Fuji 0.75%
FA Pear 0.50 - 0.75%
FA Strawberry 1%
Start the recipe with the lower %'s, steep, test and build to taste from there. It really won't need much time steeping. This is virtually a shake and vape - but having said that I'd give it 2 days and then test in an RDA. When you test if it tastes like candy then drop the Fuji by 0.25% (I'm thinking it won't but let's see). I can't tell you how this will taste as I never made it but I am thinking this will get you into the vicinity of what you are looking for.
INW melon and FLV Wild Melon will help with the overall watermelon profile. A small amount of FA Fuji will help. Avoid using any sweetener/EM - you will not need it with the flavors I listed. FA pear is a good sweetener for some fruits. A drop or two of FA Lemon Sicily to 30ml may also help but I wouldn't go there until after you've tested this over 3-4 days in an RDA.
We are using a small amount of strawberry (not enough to taste) to help boost your overall watermelon flavor. Strawberry also helps to kill off the rind flavor and helps to give that ripe juicy watermelon taste. BTW that also works the other way with a strawberry profile - adding a small amount of watermelon to boost a strawberry flavor.
Best test time is always when your taste buds are fully rested ---> in the morning. Don't vape anything else beforehand unless its flavorless or your testing will suffer. vaping a flavored juice before a test will throw off the taste buds rendering your test invalid and thus you may think it to be crap when in reality it may not be. I usually switch to flavorless a day before I test flavors/recipes and for me it works.
Hope that helps and with that I am going to bed now! Let me know if you need help.
@ChelsB I just adjusted that recipe, refresh your screen and the FA Fuji will now show as 1%. And that will give it more of a candy watermelon flavor. After you test if it's still not candyish enough then boost the FA Fuji in 0.25% increments until you are happy. Increasing FA Fuji brings more of a candy to the watermelon.Wow, what a helpful post! I actually haven’t thought to try to mix watermelon flavors and I bought FLV wild melon yesterday! I’ve also been adding sweetener, so I’ll definitely try skipping that. I have several strawberry flavors too! I’ll pm you for more advice and to pick your brainThanks a mil!
I sent you a screenshot shot of my watermelon stash via PM. Thanks SO much for your help, this is great!@ChelsB I missed that you bought FLV Watermelon. That would be a good one to use with the FA Watermelon too. Do you have INW Melon and FLV Wild Melon? Do you have the flavors in the recipe I posted?
I might try that sometime.View attachment 817563 How does this look to y’all? I’ve used honeysuckle, but always in a fruit or tea mix...not with creams
That could be it. Can't vape lemon so I remember I had an idea for different fruits.Might have been my first thought of and ice pop.I used both in my Fizzy Pink Lemonade. It isn't unusual to use both since they do different things in the mix.
Tyof course they have nutmeg on sale... I may have to get some instead of using holiday spice for it
I forget who else was looking for nutmeg.... @FranC, @Zazie ??
Nutmeg Oil Flavor Concentrate by LA (0.27oz)
Fizzy Sherbet (VTA) is safe (as much as any concentrate is; w/o lab testing, and clinical studies). There are actually a few recipes in this thread that use it. Additionally, @PJReid has done a couple of excellent posts about it:Hello! Just wondering: Has anyone tried the VT Fizzy Sherbert? Did you like it? Hopefully there’s not some potentially negative ingredients in it that makes it feel fizzy. I read on Kai’s virgin vapor site that they don’t make any sour ejuice as is what makes it sour is potentially harmful
By "CSL" I am guessing(?) you are referring to Capella SilverLine? I am not trying to pick on you; I just want to make sure everyone is talking about the same thing. Also, has anyone tried the CSL candied watermelon? What percentage did you use? I find the average on ELR to often not work for me. I’m excited (and hopeful this will finally be the one watermelon I loved) to have 2 new watermelon flavors to try! This is my first time trying CSL. Thanks to @FranC for suggesting the FLV watermelon, that’s ordered too
There's no recipe at present.....just an idea. That sounds right up my alley, I’d love to see the recipe

I don’t know, I was looking at LA Lemonade & it was also in listed as oils. I forget on which site.why was is it in with the flavorings....
The Fog Vlog on YouTube did a episode on watermelons & the winner for realistic was MB Big Watermelon. The contestants were CAP, TFA, PUR & MB.Fizzy Sherbet (VTA) is safe (as much as any concentrate is; w/o lab testing, and clinical studies). As for sour flavors being harmful; I have not heard/read anything about that. Do you have a link you can share?

I too, have been on a watermelon quest. Though I am looking for "fresh fruit," and not candy profile.
I like where @ShowMeTwice is going with their thoughts. When I inquired earlier, @Myk was kind enough to share what works for him. And, it too, uses a combination of different watermelon concentrates.
I have yet to return to my watermelon venture (she is a cruel, cruel, mistress); but I have it bookmarked to try.

Unfortunately me too lol!Happy Memorial Day. I’ve run across some recipes that I’m missing some flavors for and am considering a second bcf order.
