I wasn't sure I could get used to mixing with a scale after using syringes for years but it hasn't been a big problem. If I'm getting ready to mix now the scale is the first thing that comes out. I've had to adapt quickly to a lot of things in my life and maybe that will turn out to be a good thing now.:)
That’s promising! My scale arrived on Saturday & I haven’t had time to play with it. I was hesitant to try the scale as I’ve also been using syringes for a long time. But the lure of faster, easier finally won me over :D

I think anything mixed will be fine, she just requested not to do plain strawberry as that's all she vaped for years and got burnt out on it, like to try and 2-3 different mixes, use just one methanol, but different berry mixes, I'm not even sure what would be a good methanol, she said she wants a kick but not overpowering.

Really need to try a few for her, after over 6 years smoke free, she is smoking the odd methanol death stick, because when she is stressed, she finds that kick helps her, and she came to me asking if can mix her something, as she doesn't want to a full time smoker again.

So no pressure on me, especially as I mostly just mix one shot flavors normally

BCF didn't have TFA Menthol, but the FW has good reviews, so will see if any good or not.

Thank you for your suggestions, already placed a order, but if she doesn't like the menthol I got, will try both the koolada and ws-23 next time.
Good grief! Ya' don't check in for a day and a half and you're 150+ posts behind.

@Nailz, menthol is an organic compound that can be synthesized, or extracted from plants. but the composition remains the same. To us, as DIYers; that means manufacturer shouldn't matter. The only two variants, that I have come across, are additions (e.g. menthol + extra flavors... such as mint), or concentration.

As for manufacturer's concentration... 10% seems to be the common concentration cut-off. Both menthol, and Koolada (a.k.a. WS-3), have a rather low saturation point in PG, and 10% seems to be about the max. If water, or ethanol are used, then higher saturation levels can be achieved. WS-23 has a higher saturation ceiling (~30%); and is why it is sometimes said to be "stronger" than menthol or koolada.

If your wife is looking to alleviate her menthol ciggie cravings; I would focus on just the menthol (and FW should be just fine), as both koolada and WS-23, do not taste like menthol. They can offer a cooling effect, but don't have that Vicks VapoRub taste (some do get an artificial/chemical taste from koolada... but it isn't a menthol taste).

As for how much might be enough for your wife... this seems to be one of the more subjective flavors/enhancers. The majority of "casual" menthol users seem to find 0.5-2.0% (of the mfg's 10% solution) to be adequate. But, there are some menthol heads, who desire/require 10, 12, 15% (or more). So, it may take some wide-ranging experimentation, to find what suits her best.

On the "berry" side of things; I am a fan of the berry blends (forest fruit, mixed berry, berry blend) as the core note. All are easily bendable, to make one specific type of berry (black, blue, rasp, etc.), the featured highlight note... by the addition of whatever berry concentrates you might have on hand. Also, complimenting/contrasting fruit flavors, tend to mix well with these berry blends. Citruses, banana, peach, pear.... the list is long.

Final thought I had, while reading the above posts, is regarding stress management (the reason she is smoking the occasional cig?). If, the menthol vape route does not do the trick... and there are other mixes that work for her during non-stressful times; then consider mixing up a sample batch of one of her preferred vapes with a higher nic content. That may give her the extra "oomph" to get her through the stressful period without the need to light up. It has helped me in the past.

Good Lord this thread just screams along over 100 posts a day ....
Good to see @Sirius is still around. How ya doin' buddy ? Still hiding under the Palmetto Tree ?

Have you ever mixed up a bunch of trial (10ml for me) flavors and absolutely fell in love with one ? I just couldn't get past chocolate cookie... but it's gone now. I will have to make a bigger bottle and put that in the rotation.
Love finding a new fave !

Be surprised when your scale shows signs of being sensitive to outside "influences". What I mean by this is air currents, magnetic fields and RFI/EMI from other electronic devices. If you decide to use the AC adapter, plug it into its own dedicated surge protector preferably on a different wall outlet from other surge protectors and power strips. Yes, they really are that sensitive. And you want to have a correct reading.

I’m beyond mad. I ordered a combo ink pack for my printer off of eBay when I noticed my black was low. I ordered it on the 18th, it didn’t ship until the 25 and I received it today right as I ran out of black ink. I open the package which was listed as new and unopened and there was one black and one color already opened and one black unopened. I tried the black open one and it didn’t work. Not wanting to go to the store, I opened the other black and it did work. I’m assuming the color doesn’t work either. I sent a message a little while ago to the seller but haven’t heard anything yet. I’m going to ask for a 50% refund or I’m filing a grievance.

One tip I'll offer, that helped me; was to practice weighing with plain old tap water first... before I made any DIY attempts. This helped me learn how to start/stop pouring... without overshooting my target weight.

Water has the added advantage, of being less viscous than PG or VG; so it teaches added control. Once you can pour water confidently, you will find pouring PG and VG to be a piece of cake! ;)

If you are using different sized bottles, and/or dropper tops, twist tops, yorker caps; be sure to experiment with all of them. One thing I did not think about taking into account was the volume of fluid behind the cap. Pouring from a larger, near full, condiment bottle is a lot different, than pouring from a 10-30mL dropper bottle. :D

Remember to use the squeeze pressure to help control the flow (along with tilt angle). Increasing pressure to increase flow is a no-brainer for most of us; but it took me a good 5 minutes to realize I could slow, even stop the flow, buy relaxing pressure. I know... I am not always the sharpest tool in the shed.

Personally I'd stick with Amazon for those type of products.

It’s weird because I had a supplier that I like and went into my history and clicked on it and thought I was buying from the same supplier but after I checked out I noticed that it was a different seller. Won’t make that mistake again.

Thank you, very useful info, I am intending to do different nic strengths as well, and hoping that will help too, hopefully with all the great info getting here, I will succeed in mixing something that will get her back on track.

Well, I've fallen out of mixing mode so no wheat mix yet. Just made the calls to shut off my phone, internet, and power mid-August so I'm a little down. Gotta pick my .... up off the floor again and soldier on.........................
It’s striking how it’s the odd things that hit us the strongest... something little that feels so big. You’re stronger than you know, I really believe that.

I'm betting you will get used to it pretty quickly as I did. I still use a syringe for tiny amounts (Mostly for sfts).

You bought "new and unopened". The refund should be for 2/3 of what you paid.

Yes, I know but it's a pretty big thing to me because it's a step toward moving out of my home into one room at my daughters'. I am tough and I'm stubborn as h-ll and that will carry me through I'm sure. I've been awful touchy lately but I recover quickly. Get through the next few months and I have it made. (Hoping)

I am moving for 2 reasons. It's not just a money issue. I don't want to spend another winter here alone, not even if I had enough money. I don't even know the new neighbors around me anymore. I don't drive. I live in the sticks.1 1/2 mile on dirt roads to get to the main highway. I have to rely on someone else to shovel roofs if we get too much snow, also to plow the yard, etc, etc.

Soooo now that I'm all caught up.

Good morning to all you random folks.

I'm back to mixing mode and I'd like to do another mix or 2 for me to vape here at home (Finally got through most of the old stock). I have 2 mixed now but one is kinda iffy. I've got a couple of ideas but nothing I'm super happy with yet so I guess it's back to the drawing board.

    As always, ideas are welcome.
