You’ve got that right about a house not being an asset. If you take a 30 year mortgage then you pay about 3.5 times the selling price by the time it’s paid for if I remember correctly. I wish I was the genius that came up with that one
My first house was a cute 1926 bungalow $17000.. We paid it off in 3 years after I stumbled across mortgage math. We were barely getting by after having nothing in 1990-1991.

This distaste for poverty led me to think more about how wealthy people think and do that's makes them so successful. Books- Millionaires Mind.. Rich Dad Poor Dad.. It's a mindset. Like teach a person to fish or feed him fish forever.

We created a bubblegum vending biz.. With 1 machine.. At the end we had 45+..

We made sure to put the best toys not the cheapest toys in them.. This meant we had to service the machines about twice a week (industry standard refill time is 1 a month) I already had a history of buying cheap toys for my job years before..) Anyway.. $1000 a week in quarters paid for my top of the line SUV.. family vacations to places we otherwise wouldn't be able to afford.

We sold that biz ONLY cuz we were moving out of state.

You know that feeling you get when you paid too much.. Or was scammed by a salesman.

A realestate agents.. Little to no college.. But great social skills convinced people to pay UP for homes. The buyer takes on all the debt.. The agent runs laughing to to the bank with 6%.

Yes of course we need agents.. For legal paperwork.. But their commission are too high.

That said.. We built a mcmansion on a lake.. Preparing to move out of state we needed to sell it. We were getting all kinds of low ball bids.. I called up the agent told her to increase the price +$10k.. And to increase the fees to 7%

(The local agents were then promoting my home over other homes.. My agent said her phone rang off the wall at the 7%)

We accepted a matching offer in a few days. ( new buyers did put in 1 demand.. My son's bathroom decor had to stay) - huge bathroom with a real fishnet across the ceiling with all of our broken fishing gear.-it was pretty cool.

@kross8 , thanks for the documentary (I'm about half way through it and like it) Here's one you might like:

You know what's the worst bit? Uploaded in 2012. 11,850 views. Just shows you the reality- people in general don't give a s***. Ex-stripper pop stars get thousands of times more views on their pseudo-music videos than documents that try to unmask the true mechanisms that steer the entire world and affect everyone's life 24/7... Idiocracy is not a sci-fi movie, we're not far off IMO.

YouTube & Twitter trends give you a peak into the social mind. It's disturbing.. And confirms the 2017 govt forecast of most of our jobs in 2025 will be food preparation and mental illness support. It's very concerning that many people will need mental health support to the point it becomes a major economic industry. Instead of productivity or advancements in energy.. Science..

IoT internet of things beaten by mental health?
CrisPr beat out by mental health?

I was talking to my shutter bug niece.. Told her to focus on virtual reality & hologram science... These mental health numbers tell me... We cant help many without the aide of strapping on a series of VR goggles on them

Thanks I’ll check it out. My son and I went to pick up some food last night and he said “Mom you didn’t do 1/3 of the walls, it’s more like 1/8th”. He’s right. My entire driveway is surrounded by brick walls. Then I forgot about the steps. Sigh. This may take a few weekends.

Good morning happy mixologists! I hope.

I am a bit tired today. The husband feel asleep before me and to add insult to injury he like had music om which I usually LIKE but I was trying to turn down so he would not turn into the dead donkey head in my bed. He work up and was all cranky and it caused me to drop a mod in flusterment. THEN words were exchanged about getting in bed and I was like, "Does it have s "sleep button," he said it did.

New age music makes me stabby and to add insult to injury this was some new age CHANEL so like, I got to hear commercials about non-combustion ovens and crap.

Then, I heard a sound. I was like, "This can't be happening or if it is, he is doing it on purpose." The new age virtual sounds were being ACCOMPANIED by something o and it was.... a short, JUST off the beat (if New age music even HAS one) but consistent, little donkey grind. I actually went over there and leaned my ear close, and confirmed it. I will say it didn't make the New Age music worse, but it also did not improve it in ANY way.

I gave up at that point, but I was so IRRITATED it took me time to like pass out on the couch. I wound up taking more Ambien and I did not want to so I ache all over a bit today and well, it's not good.

To add insult to injury the husband woke me up with the words (at 7 and it's TOO EARLY I am IN REBELLION DAY) "Couch dweller."

I just looked at him and was like, "Don't be calling ME names, YOU are the person that makes this happen! He was like, "You need a room." I was like "Um YOU actually seem upset than me about my sleeping on the couch, actually. YOU need to use one of your 20 mouth guards I have had it." To add insult to injury (I don't think it's the husband but I could be wrong. I bet I am no one else would be so inconsiderate, honestly on a Sunday morning) but some "grass" is being "mowed."

It is loud, hurts ma head, and I hate the vile smell of like, grass clippings. That is probably the reason for the headache, the olfactory nerve is like, connected to headaches like no-one's business. I don't know why I hate the smell NOW I mean I mowed the lawn myself in my youth. Maybe he thinks eh can mow the roaches away. IDK. Maybe it's the spiky grass or a cheap lawn mower, IDK.

So yeah, yoga and bit:censored:ing, apparently. I also need to prepare for a couple phone conversations tomorrow and scan off some release somewhere. Vapes to wick. Nothing major. I am in a BAD mood but woke up no fever.

Not the best night of all time no.
