Well finished putting shelf unit together in less time then i tbought it would take "Me" - Thanks to a YT video. . .

Okay - NOT FUNNY . . . A few weeks ago my Dell laptop computer "died", then the Google Xoom tablet, now the 46" Samsung TV is acting up (sound fuzzy - thankfully have a Samsung sound bar) and as of today the Cuisinart coffee maker is/has died (leaks - why wood shelving had to be replaced, with metal wire rack), so has the Kenmore microwave . . . Last, but not the least, brand new battery for the smart phone isn't holding a charge and the tank on my mod is wabbling (Yes, it is on correctly). . . What's next (rhetorical question) . . . NOT HAVING A GOOD DAY ! ! ! :-x

.

I've been using Cuisinart coffee makers for a while and they do tend to develop leaks. 99% chance it's coming from some rubber hoses down the bottom. I found instructions on YT and replaced those hoses with silicon tubing. Done it twice now. Bit of a fussy job and you need a fancy screwdriver to take the bottom cover off but once you figure that out they will last forever. Definitely cheaper than buying new ones. I've got 2 of them. When I bought the first one I got a replacement policy from Lowes so I have a spare while I tinker with fixing leaks.

I have a cuisanart coffee maker with a grinder built in to it. It’s been great with no leaking. I’ve had it so long that I’m not sure exactly how old it is. I know it’s at least six years old. It’s lasted longer than any other one I’ve had.

    Good morning :)
I have a cuisinart too, but also have a French press, and a chemex. The fandangled cuisinart is down south, so up north we do things the old fashioned way. I kinda wish it was the opposite. A French press or chemex might be a bit more work and less convenient, but they're pretty much fail proof.. unless you drop a chemex, then it's done. It's made out of glass.. but it makes, in my opinion, the best coffee.

A pour over coffee maker, just have to manually pour the water over rather than pressing a button. The glass + chemex filters = great coffee

Do you think the coffee tastes better than a regular coffee maker?
Well taste is definitely subjective, but I (we) really think so. It was worth the money.. the only downside is that the filters are hard to come by currently, so I bought a metal filter for when I run out. I tested that one out, and the coffee is more like French press coffee but still great. I think these paper filters designed for the chemex are the key.

    Good morning everybody.

Wife and I fell in love over coffee.. I like Bunn coffee makers myself and won't drink from anything less. Okay, that's not true. However, I do think Bunn coffee makers are hard to beat. It takes about 3 minutes to make a full pot. I also like making Cuban coffee in a Moka Pot.

I love my moka pots. Oh, and I have a Turkish coffee pot too. I'm a coffee fanatic!!

    Happy Tuesday, turbulators :)

Predicted "late night/early morning fog" was pretty light, so probably the grass will dry enough for the last cut of the year.

 NOPE - That's a silly question, especially since Ya' know I've got to get a coffemaker & microwave tomorrow . . . :img:

    .

Dang, should have gotten the coffee maker yesterday, how the heck do you start the day without?

I was just looking at my yard yesterday and thinking the next cut will probably be the last of the year.

I don't think we're anywhere near the last cut of the year. The 18lbs of seed I overseeded my lawn with is doing good with the help of some fertilizer. We're having days 80-90 this week which is really strange. I still have a couple spots that I need to spot seed where for some reason it didn't take. One is close to a tree which has roots that protrude the ground. Last year we put a bunch of dirt down but it might have not been enough to let the grass grow.

AH - COFFEE MAKERS, etc. :D

Very informative and worth a try - but ain't gonna happen, especially since it takes having the agility to manipulate small screws . . . Having, Peripheral Nurupathy - doesn't help either . . . BTW: Cuisinart coffee maker is 16 + years old, so not worth it at this point . . . Just Sayin' . . .

the only downside is that the filters are hard to come by currently,

Yep - As an FYI: i've subsituted both organic & linen cotton filters at times when I was using a "Chemex" regularly (still have one and a cup size too) . . . ;)

    Bunn coffee makers

One of the best out there, but too expensive for "Me", especially now given i can only drink 1-3 mugs a day . . .

    Moka Pot.

I can’t say I’ve ever been a coffee fanatic. I’m more of a coffee addict. The last couple years I’ve been drinking less.

Yep - And even though I shouldn't be having any caffeine (Drs orders), I do drink 50/50 in the morning now . . . That's down from 3-4 pots of coffee a day and any Expresso/Cuban coffee too . . . :(

Same here, I even drink coffee before bed.

And - actually, could sleep like a baby, even after an expresso too . . . :D

Dang, should have gotten the coffee maker yesterday, how the heck do you start the day without?

I don't . . . . Got to remember, I live in FL - hurricains/no electricity for weeks - so I have a number of ways to make coffee without a coffeemaker . . . As long as I can get hot water (even have sterno stove), I can make a hot cup of coffee . . . Just Sayin' . . . .
