I got some great news yesterday:rolleyes:. I went to refill my "staying alive" medicine and was told a 30 day supply will cost me $740 going forward. Seems the Gilead copay assistance card can no longer be used because I "have used up my allotment for a lifetime". They released this drug in 2015 and told me at the time that the copay assistance card was for a lifetime.

If I had known otherwise I would have never switched to this "less toxic" medicine.

It's odd, this medicine costs $20 in Africa, $32 in Australia, and $4000 here in America. I have an appointment to see a specialist on the 13th but will have to go without medicine till then. I'll definitely have to switch to an older medicine I've used in the past that has some side effects I don't really care for... Oh well. There is nothing I can do about it.

Luckily the old medicine's patent ran out just this year, so generic is finally available. Gilead tried to unsuccessfully extend this patent as it expired but that representative known as AOC helped lobby to get it shot down.

Life goes on... I can do without the slap in the face though.

Glad it worked out for you. Got to love the system.

Around the time I quit smoking my company insurance stopped covering COPD meds. The two I was taking would have cost most of my take home pay. Looked into getting them from Canada, it would have been a fraction of the cost but the process seemed a little dodgy. Not to mention criminal. I almost bailed out and moved back to England but in the end I just stopped taking them. Guess I quit smoking before my lungs were too messed up.

Just got my River Supply flavorings order! Now I get to play around making some eliquid samples for the 2 newbies. One likes Green Apple, Cherry, and Watermelon flavors of Jolly Rancher hard candy. She also is interested in trying the Nick Evans Lemon Meringue Pie eliquid I make. The other one likes Banana Nut Bread, Sweet Tea, and Coffee. He's anxious to try the Baked Cinnamon Roll that I make with the OSDIY oneshot of it.

I have an American lady friend who also suffers from the same malady I do. She moved to "The Rock" aka Isle of Man many years ago and is a citizen. Her only gripe is the long ferry ride to see her doctor, meds and doctor visits cost her nothing. I am aware there are a few trade offs, but at least it doesn't affect your lifestyle, necessarily.

Just curious, what percentage do you like to mix Banana Nut Bread at?

I was on a med that I knew was expensive, but I didn't know how much so, because Medicaid was paying for it all. Once my daughter turned 18, I lost Medicaid and went on Obamacare. I then found out exactly how much that one med cost. It was $1000 a month and insurance was only going to pay $100 of it. My doctor had to switch me to an older, less effective medication. Remember that when anyone says how great the ACA is.

I don't know yet, as I've never made any before. Recipes I've found online (for using it as a oneshot or 1 of 3-4 flavorings in a mix) use it from 5-15%. I'm going to try 1 recipe I found in an old ECF thread first I think. It's TFA BNB @ 5%, TFA Butter @ 2% and TFA Banana Cream @ 2.5%. Also thinking of maybe adding just a touch of AP to it, as a few recipes included it, too.

    Somewhere between here and there
For any of you that are familiar with TFA Banana Nut Bread, do you all think something like Vanilla Swirl or Bavarian Cream would go well with it? I want to try out the Banana Nut Bread, but didn't want to just try it by itself.

The banana nut bread recipe I made that Julia Su posted was pretty good and it used bavarian cream(JF)

ok so changing all of that out for total flavor % and steep time....what other important information do you think is needed?

I know taste can be very different for folks but still a bit of a flavor description would be nice.

hm so instead of relying on folks to put that into the notes, put a spot in the juice info?
Something maybe along the lines of Flavor Profile: ____ ?

Not sure "notes" needs to be a partial list of the flavors. If you don't want to add a Flavor Profile block, maybe just put the "tastes like" there?
hahaha that was just me being lazy on a description :p

Yeah, maybe a short description under Flavor Profile??
something a bit more like this
