The same can be said about living in the "sticks" if Ya' really listen . . . Hey - I've lived on a farm, in very rural areas, the mountains, near a river/lake/ocean, suburbia, "Bed room" & "Artist" Communities, and a few Big Cities (NYC/Philadelphia just to name 2) . . . They all were noisy at times . . . Now - Would I pick one over the other - it would really depend on the community, but "My" personal preference has mainly been and at the moment is where people are and if there are the amenities that I NEED . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Yes, but, to me, the sounds of the frog choir, birds, indignant tree rats (squirrels
), dozens of different birds, and so on are a lot less intrusive than car engines, horns and "industry." Then again, we're only about 15 miles or so to our docs, dentists and, well, shopping We do, now and then, get "noise" from JBLM, both aircraft and artillery, but we knew where they were (and what they do) when we bought our land, it's not 24/7, and it's necessary for their training. If that was going to bother us, we'd have bought somewhere else, not like the bozos who buy a house at the end of the runway of an airport and complain about the noise!Hey, we're all different, a good thing!
