oh well... still might try that anyway (have been doing everything with caramel lately.... getting burned out on that)
You really need to have an assortment or you’re going to end up burning out on a bunch of flavors like I did.

Good morning. I have to take my pet tyrannosaurus rex in for his first vet visit today, he's 8 weeks old now and growing like a weed.

He's such a smart little guy. I have been training him on commands and it's amazing how fast German Shepherds pick up on it.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Awwh that face...., those paws:wub:, the round wee body:wub:......just all of him:wub::wub::wub:

I haven't posted any terrapin pics lately:

This is Cupid, she has two hearts on her head. You can see one in this pic.

Wow. Your turtle pics are amazing.
    Two questions for you.
You might recall that you helped me identify a turtle I saw crossing the bike trail I was cycling on. I've encountered three or four of them and when I stopped to say HI they weren't very friendly and withdrew into their shells.
Yet, yours are poking way out fearlessly. Is it the difference between those out in the wild and those raised domestically?
Second, I got a funny feeling that the turtles were smart. Not sure why. Just looking into their eyes.
    Do you think they are?
There's a house with a chicken coop alongside the bike trail, and they often let the birds out, who then hang out along the trail. Looking into their eyes, I don't get much intelligence.

I had not thought of that (but I do like lemon with tea) Makes sense (the only coffees I have are pre-mades and both have "creamer"... I will try adding some of my DIY lemon flavors... that's ironic, just this morning I thought "I miss lemon" ;) )
hahaha that wasn't meant as lemon mixed with coffee :)

but on that note, back when I started mixing I couldn't make a good coffee flavor....one day I had a little banana flavor left on my wick and refilled with a coffee mix....surprisingly the banana flavor helped the coffee flavor

    Thanks!

Most turtle species will become tame in captivity, and certain species are more personable than others. Diamondback terrapins are probably at the top of the list when it comes to personality. It's one reason the demand for them is so high, along with their beauty. A lot of keepers refer to them as the dogs of the turtle world. Mine are very tame because I am the first thing they see when they hatch from the egg.

Intelligence, on the other hand, is hard to quantify when it relates to what we normally gauge it as. If you watched my terrapins in their tank you would realize pretty quickly that they are not that smart. There can be food all around them and they'll want to take the route between the tank wall and the filtration intake (1 inch gap which they can't fit in) to try to get to the food. They'll spend minutes trying to get between the gap as opposed to just swimming to the open area where all the food is. However, if I am hand feeding them they know when they have gotten a hold of my finger as opposed to the food and will not clamp down. Don't ever try that with a wild turtle by the way. I've seen wild snapping turtles scale an 8 foot high fence and the end of the fence is literally inches away.
Mine also know enough to associate my presence with food, and seem less thrilled when someone else tries to feed them.

So, anybody mess around with anything like a taffy recipe or flavor concentrate?
I have a commercial liquid I am trying to mimic that is a Blue Raspberry Taffy (you may have seen the thread I posted recently). It's a candy-esque flavor I guess, which I am too inexperienced with really.
Also wouldn't mind suggestions for blueberry, raspberry, and bubblegum flavors.
I put together a recipe that is vaguely like a blue Razz taffy, but the bubblegum is wrong for it if nothing else.
Is there a bubblegum flavoring that is more like bubblicious than bazooka, if you know what I mean?
Here's what I came up with, and it is a good recipe, maybe a little strong for some, but not really what I want it to be.

    -Blue Razz AF Clone v1-
    9% Sour Blue Raspberry WF
    2% Bubblegum FLV
    2% Circus Cotton Candy TFA
    1.5% Fuji Apple

Sidenote- @hittman , I got some Fluffy White Cake WF on your suggestion and I am not disappointed, that's a nice cake flavor. Mixed it solo at 5% 5 days ago and I'm enjoying it, will use in some mixes in the future. Now I have to get that lemon cake you're all talking about though, lol.

@uthinkofsomething - I had a post on your other thread almost finished a couple hours ago, and was just about to get it posted, but...Windows10 locked up on me and I lost it all.

You may want to try this simple Watermelon Starburst candy recipe for your friend, and just sub TFA Blue Raspberry for the Watermelon. 3 friends really like it! They've made Watermelon Starburst, Blue Raspberry Starburst, and Strawberry Starburst (with TFA Strawberry Ripe), so far and liked them all.

    TFA Watermelon - 7.5%
    TFA Sweet & Tart - 2%
    TFA Sweetener - .75%

Because the Sweet & Tart and the Sweetener provide the sour (tart) flavor and the sweetness that people have said the Air Factory Blue Razz has... I wouldn't use the WF Sour Blue Raspberry as the sub flavoring. I'd try maybe a 10mL sample batch of the recipe above, just subbing TFA Blue Raspberry only, and see if your friend likes it. If he does...it's a very simple recipe for you to keep making for him.

However, if it's not close enough to a "taffy", you may want to make a new 10mL and add a very tiny hint of TFA Butter to it, since real taffy candy does contain some margarine or butter. Might want to try just 1 drop of it (tiniest drop you can dispense) in the 10mL. It might be nasty...or it might just do the trick. If he likes it, just make a note to add 1 small drop of the TFA Butter per 10mL of the eliquid you make for him each time.

That's very interesting advice. I'll have to give it a shot. I don't have those flavors but planned on getting new ones to try.
Do you have experience with the TFA Blue Raspberry? Should I try same percentage as the watermelon?
I like that these are cheaper flavorings too, could end up making big batches for the friend.

I don't "do" Blue Raspberry eliquids myself. But all 3 friends use the same % for whatever flavor of fruity Starburst they're making. So, yep...the same 7.5% as with the TFA Watermelon.

If your friend happens to like various fruity Bubblegum, too...there's also a super simple recipe for it as well...using all TFA flavorings. It only takes 1 different flavoring than the Watermelon Starburst. It's also been a big hit with everyone I've made it for.

    TFA Watermelon - 7.5%
    TFA Bubblegum - 4%
    TFA Sweetener - 1%

Again, you can just switch out the TFA Watermelon for any other TFA fruit flavoring...to make many others.

I'll have to give that a shot. I've not gotten into flavors like these much at all because I'm always craving cheesecake, custard, cookie, etc. flavors. But I like a variety.
I'm enjoying that Sour Blue Raspberry well enough. I always have a couple tanks going though, one with a dessert flavor the other with a lighter fruitier flavor.

    Somewhere between here and there
Good morning mixers. We made it to another Friday. I have a break from reviewing for a little while so may get around to trying some new to me stuff this weekend that I have in the vape cabinet.

As the video below shows, they are notorious beggars:

Here's another vid just for giggles. This is one that just hatched, absorbed it's yolk sac and is eating solid food for the first time.

    Love the turtles

My boss is off until Tuesday but it doesn't make much difference to me. However, the office folks are having a grand ole time goofing off.
I’m sure he’ll know if the work doesn’t get done.

    how is it already friday?

Might be Fake News. I think it's probably Wednesday. Actually being retired plus the lockdown it's hard to keep track of the days.

Right now I'm trying to make plans for thanksgiving dinner. We've been doing it for a long time and my wife wants to go ahead.

I copied the CDC guidelines for small family gatherings and wrote up a list. Guests stay in the living room apart from bathroom trips. Kitchen and office are off limits, normally they all want to use our computers and printer when they come round. Masks except for eating. Social distance. We dish out the food instead of buffet style. I'll set up two tables, one for us and one for guests, 10 feet apart. Windows open for air flow. And some other stuff.

Fortunately we don't have to deal with many people this year, several of the usual participants are out of town. Military, college, etc. Just a daughter, a GD and a GGD. But D drinks too much and goes to bars. No idea what GGD gets up to. She spends half her time with her father, he's of the right wing persuasion and doesn't believe in viruses and masks.

It's a shame to have to do that stuff. But me and her are old and have conditions which mean if we catch the virus we likely won't make it. Indiana is having a major spike in infections, Fauci and the CDC are saying small family gatherings appear to be one of the prime drivers right now.

    Morning, mixer-uppers.

Some cloud cover overnight, so only down to 52. Scattered showers in the cast.

You really need to have an assortment or you’re going to end up burning out on a bunch of flavors like I did.

That, and, well, just liking variety, is why I have literally a dozen going at all times. Nothing long enough to burn out :)

Yup, like Fran said, happens every week, and often right after Thursday. (Even though retired, I still wear a watch that also shows the week day, otherwise I'd probably miss out on the weekends! )

I read that about small family gatherings also. I’m not sure what is planned here.
