Yeah, I do want one. I also want a router, and to make a router table. I really want that one first. Of course I really want a large garage to do all this wood working in too. :|

I made a router table years ago from a design I found online. Built with expensive high density fiberboard which doesn't warp, the top was 2 layers of 3/4" board. I hardly ever used it, now it's just a ridiculously heavy storage cabinet for router tools. I guess if you do a lot of precision routing it would be worth it.

I worked with a guy once who decided to get into woodwork after his wife bailed out. I had a standard Seers table saw and suggested he got one of those but he wanted the best. He paid $8K for a top of the line German table saw. The people he bought it from sent a tech round in advance to check that his garage floor was level and strong enough for the enormous weight, he thought that was so cool, he dropped by to tell me about it the next day. Then two guys came round and spent most of a day installing and tuning it. The weight meant it didn't vibrate at all, the top was perfectly flat to within 3 microns and it could make cuts accurate to 1/1000" or whatever. He was so proud of it but I don't think he ever did much actual woodwork.

I have my router next to my modem. They both fit on a shelf. No table required.

My work area is small, and so are most of my projects. The desk is the largest thing I have done. I would go with just a hard wood top, and a small foot print. Before all of that I would need to get the router, and a bunch of the bits. I am a amateur and have no dreams of grandeur. I have no room for a huge wood working shop, but I do find it fun. :)

I had a table saw once for a short time, used it to cut wood blocks into handle slabs. One night I cut a slab using a push stick, turned the saw off and saw wood next to the blade and reached in with my left hand to grab it. IDK what happened but something grabbed and licked my hand into the still spinning blade. For a while there I did not know if I had lost any digits but at the ER saw that I had completely opened up my thumb and index finger. Lots of shots and stitches later I still have use of both. Gave the saw away.

What batteries you using in it? I want to get some VTC6a 21700s for mine, but I question if they will fit. Apparently they are slightly bigger than other 21700s and don't fit in my SL class.

What bothers me the most about Annas' absence is what she said about ever going in a psych hospital again. That downright scares me.

She may have said that, but she didn't mean it. If a person is sick enough but refuses admission, the doctor can do a involuntary 3 day admission and then have a judge extend it if necessary. As a psychologist, Anna would know this. She would most likely go voluntarily.

How are you liking it so far?

It’s really a gorgeous mod. Nice weight but not too heavy. It seems to fire quickly. I put my gunmetal Zeus on it and it’s a nice match. I’m already thinking about ordering a blue one.

I’m using the Samsung 30T currently but also have molicel 21700’s also.

A lot of possibilities. I’m just hoping she’s ok.

FranC et al, Anna is fine! :thumb: I sent her an email earlier, and just got a reply from her. She was in a timeout that she believes will end tomorrow  I'll leave all the drama for her to tell you, but no hospital or anything like that. :D
    Thank you much

I’m glad you asked that. I just realized that I ordered two new molicel 21700 batteries from 18650 battery store and they must have sent the 30t batteries by mistake. I emailed them just now. I’ll see what they say.

I am still waiting for my Grus to ship from Everzon. I ordered it on the 10th... the order still shows processing.

Was it preorder? Sourcemore has them in stock ready to ship

Nope, just a sale. Everzon is the worst.... I never ordered from Sourcemore so I never can get the good deals everyone talks about. When I looked at the prices it showed $52.99 even when I was logged in. Someone told me you have to place an order and then the discounted prices will show. I don't know if it's true or not but when you said you were ordering yours for the sale price, I went and checked because I was going to order one. It showed $52.99 even then.
