In 1985 my first car was a 1967 Camaro.  Hold the oooohhs, ahhhsss, and applause though.  It had a straight 6 for a motor, which had about 250,000 miles on it.   Zero to thirty in a quarter mile....  My friends use to tease me by sticking their arms out the windows and making a swimming motion.  According to them it helped acceleration.    
I think my car was the first car in the world that made you wear seat belts. If you didn't you stood a chance of being thrown from the car while turning, because the doors would fly open. It had a cool navigational system too, way before it's time. You could always find your way back home by the bondo crumb trail it would leave behind.
I remember when my step father threatened to put it up on blocks because I came home late one night. I was so disappointed when he didn't follow through. I figured he had hopes of me falling out of it one day.
