That's good to hear. There were segments on TV showing elderly people there sitting in cars and lawn chairs overnight to get first in line when they opened after they went to a first come first served system. They interviewed people who had waited 8 hours then got turned away because they ran out. I guess they got the process sorted out. We are doing something that has never been done before in this country. Like the appointment website in Indiana. It works but it's primitive and hard to navigate. Guess they had to set it up in a hurry.
Yes there were some issues early on. Still not perfect for some areas. Each county has it's own method.
We signed up on-line Mon., got the shot Wed, with an appt. for the second shot in 3 weeks.
Hope everyone flying into the state for the vaccine are quarantining. Lot's of old farts in FL....

I'm so happy for you! Mom and Dad had a chance to get their vaccinations through the County last week. Before I could even call for them to make an appointment, they had 1.1 million calls in less than 24 hours which caused phone issues. They were out of appointments in less than 24 hours. So Mom and Dad will have to wait. There are more people than there are shots.
Mom is still waiting too. Alabama is having trouble getting it together it seems (although I saw a picture of Kay getting hers;)). Himself got his second shot last week, and my in-laws have gotten their first. Daughters have all gotten the first. I’ll be the last one in my “pod” :(. Too “young” to be “old”, no pre-existing conditions.

Mom said that Alabama got a low number of shots. I haven't been keeping up really but she does.

Don't believe the "horror stories" about FL.
Vaccine distribution is going very well. We are 3rd in the country.
65 and up for now. Many drive through locations and Publix grocery stores went on line on Mon. for vaccines, as well as all the typical county health sites.
People are flying in from out of state to get the shot.
They may regret that lol. All the bordering states to Florida are in the bottom tier of getting it out. You have to be a resident of the state to get one here.

Random thought on movies and Chuck. I know I’ve said I like blood and guts in a movie before. I also like speed (fast and furious) and I like a lot of westerns. As far as funny goes I like a real funny/funny show but I dislike what I call funny/stupid. Chuck has a fair bit of funny/stupid but there are enough interesting parts to make me forgive the dumb ones. I started Season 2 last night. Glad I gave it a try.

I think it's the high number of snowbirds down here, is the reason they opened it up to non residents.
Just wish they would leave after they get the shot. Traffic would be alot better...:)

I'm half a day from a 4-day weekend! I took tomorrow off and I get MLK day on Monday as a holiday. I'm thinking about pulling together my tax stuff. I don't have my W2 yet but at least I'll be ready. I like to add everything up and get all inputs ready to go prior to getting into the tax program. It really helps me to prepare first.

Anyone ever just feel like throwing an apple laptop through a window? Smash it with a sledge hammer? No? Just me?

Plans? Winterization of doors and windows, and continuing with studying practically any chance I get. I'm thinking about forking over $11k cash or getting a loan to go through a code boot camp offered through the state university.

With my DIY gear, I keep the syringes well lubed with VG. I take the plunger out and put a dab of VG in the palm of my hand and roll the rubber or whatever it is called in the VG and they are kept like new. I usually only have to replace them when the numbers wear off. Usually, the tape I put on them gets worn out first.

Don't mean to disagree with you, but that is not the same down here in South Florida - West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami - Major problems for weeks now, websites to make appointments "shut down" - Telephone constant -busy signal, many people not able to get appointments and this who have appointments waiting in line for hours (some 10 hours) only to find out that they ran out of the vaccine. Those hospital that have vaccines - like Clevaland Cliinc - reserves what they have for their staff and clients only . . . It was only 2 days ago Broward County finally opened a website to preregister to get an appointment - then you have to wait until they call you . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Hopefully you will see improvements soon.
I think once the single shot/no freezer vaccine is widely available, it will be in every CVS.
Honestly, I thought it wouldn't be until April that we'd see any vaccines.

We just got our W2 today at work. My wife normally does our taxes. She has a degree in financial management even though she's not really able to work any more. We never got audited so she must be doing it right.

Where can I get 10ml, 30ml, and 50ml bottles, like 100 each, reasonably priced ?

I got my last bottles from heartland vapes and I feel like they are a little better quality than the ones I've gotten from other places in the past. As far as I know, they still do free shipping on orders over $50.

Yep - Not too worried about it really, my Drs are more concerned then I am . . . So given their urging, I signed up for preregistration as soon as I heard about it, so when they call to confirm an appointment they call . . . Just Sayin' . . .

    BTW:
105 Publix pharmacies will offer COVID-19 vaccines in Florida. South Florida left out again, the epicenter of the state’s COVID-19 cases.

On Wednesday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said 56 Publix stores in Flagler, St. Johns, Volusia and Collier counties will offer thousands of vaccines to people 65 and older on Thursday through their pharmacies. The 105 stores that will administer the vaccines are mostly in North and Central Florida.

Publix vaccinations by appointment will begin Thursday for the new stores. Those eligible can make an appointment and see store locations at publix.com/covidvaccine.

    https://www.miamiherald.com/news/coronavirus/article248480715.html

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – People age 65 and older and community healthcare providers can pre-register to receive the vaccine against COVID-19 starting on Wednesday at Broward Health.

Broward Health to start giving COVID-19 vaccines to seniors, community healthcare providers
