I never vape that high. It’s rare for me to get to 20w.
It's still comparable. I'm using .17 dual coils with a lot of wire so 98 watts with very open airflow is not crazy : ) My 98 watts is like your 18 watts but with a lot more cloud.

Last night and today I reduced my number of setups from 13 to 8. Cleaned up the retired tanks and put them in the stash. Wanted to get to down 6 but I don't want to get rid of any more flavors right now. And I still have a couple of new flavors to try out.

Also went through my stash and did some reorganizing. My KFL's were all in their boxes so I put them in a tupperware container with the spare parts in ziplock bags. Same with the Picos and Solos. Reduced the size down to where I could almost go from 3 tubs down to 2. I was planning to get rid of some stuff but didn't. There were rumors a while back that it might get unsafe to transport gear into some States. Spinners and Pro Tanks would be good for trips where stuff might not make it through.

Sorta makes sense but no way is taste going to be the same.

    @AnthonyB -
As you get to know your flavors you will learn over time what works best with what. Take great notes with everything you do. Those will come in very handy. If you see others posting notes and info, grab those too, they are useful and do come in handy as well. I'm always grabbing folks info and popping them into text files.

    :)

When I started DIY I copied and pasted endless notes, mainly from the TFA thread. What goes with what and so forth. Trouble is I ended up with one enormous Word file full of notes. It's too big and disorganised to be any use.

When I started I got to excited about mixing and ended up with a bunch of 60ml partial bottles that I never finished. I went back and tried some but if they weren’t good then I’d dump them. I’m currently trying to use up some old mixes. It just gets to the point where I get tired of them and dump what’s left. Now when I mix, I do mostly 10 or 15ml mixes. I only have three favorites that I mix 40-60ml at a time.
I done my 15ml mixes for along time. It’s not so bad if I end up dumping. On the ones I want to mix again usually stay in 15ml size just because I usually have too much mixed.

98 watts! I thought my 75 watts was pretty high. I'm usually at about .15 dual coils.

Now I feel really bad about River. I think their white bottles are doing them no favors. Yes it smells peppery. Yes it looks dark in the bottle. But when I poured it into my white funnel to transfer it, it looked clear to me. Mine does not smell off. Before anybody throws their River nic away, I would definitely sample it and take another look at it.

I had the weirdest thing happen. I’ve been using a Kanger mini sub with a .5 coil. The coil is well over a month old and still vaping great. I picked it up and took a vape. When I went to take another vape I got nothing. Looked at my PV which said atomizer short. So weird. I’ve never had that happen before.

Perhaps I should have slowed down a bit with building my flavour library. I bought this entire box of concentrates in the space of 3 weeks.

The struggle with decision fatigue is real. Lol
Welcome to the rabbit hole! :D

I can vape almost anything except floral, coffee and one of Gremlin’s house blends called Blue Gremlin. So far I can vape just about anything else. I never dump juice and I make 100 mls at a time with new recipes. I vape a lot though so it’s nothing for me to vape through my stash quickly.

I have a cabinet in my kitchen island for my mixes. I try not to make more than will fit in there. I’ve got a lot of juice right now so I’m not making new ones. I am making a list of future mixes though in elr. And I try to keep my favs around.

    Somewhere between here and there
I evidently did a poor job of wicking one of my Druga tanks. It was working fine until I refilled it and liquid just gushed out all over my hand and the mod.

I tried the wf baked pineapple sft and am not impressed. Maybe it would be better in a mix. I mixed it at 3% and the flavor is weak.

I'm sure there are differences. It's been so long since I've vaped MTL, and I never really went back and forth between MTL and DL, that I can't even compare. My vape is pretty warm even with the airflow, but that does really push the dessert flavors for me.
From the beginning, I wanted an easy draw, like a smooth deep inhale, and if you want strong flavor from that generally you have to increase wattage. It's a balancing game of finding the right airflow in combination with coil and wattage in any given atomizer. A really large one with big coil chamber almost demands large coils to get full, sometimes too much lol, flavor. But they get hot, so you open airflow more. Then the flavor is reduced, so you turn up the wattage, but then it's hot so you increase airflow... I really just go by how well the wicking keeps up until it's too hot for my lips. If I get burnt hits with full airflow I turn the wattage back down.
Bright fruit flavors I treat differently, cooler vape let's the fresh fruit flavor shine. But with the same atomizer I am using for high wattage dessert vapes, if I don't keep the wattage up high enough the liquid is not fully vaporized and it can be too "wet" and juicy, or actually spit at me more. Little higher wattage keeps that from happening.
I'm sure there are a million variations, hence the RDL vapers. I really only know how I vape firsthand. Some friends have their variations but mostly using factory coil DL tanks, and my wife does MTL, and of course some vicarious experience through reading others' posts here.

    I know it's outrageous :lol::lol::lol:
Coils are different though, and the atomizer they are in makes a big difference too. I have put the same coils with same resistance in to different RTAs and had to run them 15 watts difference to get the same flavor.
My other main setup is a Zues X tank with .21 dual mixed twisted coils I run at 68-69 watts. These are made of a 25g round Ka1, a 28g round Ka1, and a .1x.8 flat KA1 wire twisted together, 6/7 wrap, 2.5mm ID.

I've had small changes in resistance reading after a tank I've been using for a while sits overnight or longer. Seems like it happens when they need cleaned. Never had one just go short on me though.
Check to see if something fell inside onto the coil, perhaps.

At the moment I’d say try a mango flavor. Single flavors are kinda hard for me cause I rarely vape a single. Or a cappuccino would probably be fine.
Thanks, Fran. Is mango a strong flavor, because I want to be able to taste it in my mouth and a lot of them aren't strong enough. Yes, definitely getting a cappuccino from Bull City, just trying to figure out which one. I want it to taste like coffee with cream and sugar. :)

    That’s pretty much impossible.

Ssa baked orange is good solo.
    Ssa? HELP!
I've vaped nothing but tobacco for many years, with a banana flavor or berry every so often. Not crazy about either of the flavors, and I know I won't be able to get tobacco, but I remember LOVING a cappuccino a while back.
And fruit is a nice refreshing feeling...tell me more about Ssa baked orange and where I can get it, please?

You can get SSA flavors at Bull City Flavors - Largest Selection & Best Prices on Flavoring. That is a popular DIY shop for many of us on here.

Ka1 definitely requires a little higher wattage to wake up, especially larger coils like you're using. I use N80 quad core clapton wire which has a much faster ramp up than a Ka1 quad core clapton using the same gauge. My sweet spot is around 50 to 60 watts...

My mtl builds are usually around .90 to 1.6 using Ka1 round wire 26 or 28 gauge. When I get a new atty part of the enjoyment is trying various builds in it to find what works best for me.

I’ve always liked the FA Cappuccino but you’ll have to add your own cream and sugar. I love FA Fresh Cream. I’m much impressed with my new mango and I don’t think you’ll have any problem tasting it. WF Island Mango.
