I've been tweaking my Strawberry Yogurt Cake recipe and finally have it right where I want it.

@Zazie can you please delete the one in your Blog and replace it with this one? TIA

    Strawberry Yogurt Cake

    MF Strawberry 2%
    FLV Cream 1%
    INW Vanilla Cream 0.5%
    FW Yogurt 1.5%
    WF Fluffy White Cake 1%

Steeping: 4 weeks minimum. After 6 weeks MF strawberry really comes into its own.

MF Strawberry is one of Medicine Flower's weaker flavors hence the high percentage. IMO it is the most accurate strawberry around. It's like eating a fresh ripe juicy California strawberry. In this recipe the strawberry is very much present but not in an in-your-face kind of way. It blends like it should in a real cake.

FW Yogurt and WF Fluffy White Cake work really well together. IMO they were made for each other. Combined they make for a denser and more complex vape. More mouth feel.

The yogurt brings some tanginess plus a little sour. I've made this with the yogurt at 3% and it brings out more of the tang + sour. Fluffy white cake is not a very sweet cake. I've made this with it at 2% for more of the cake flavor.

This can be made minus the yogurt and cake for a flavorful Strawberry Cream.

Leave the cake out for a Strawberry Yogurt. Consider raising the yogurt up to 3%.

Leave the yogurt out for a simple Strawberry Cake. Bump fluffy white cake to 2-2.5%.

I tested it all 3 ways.

Note 1: FA Strawberry along with FA Juicy Strawberry (1:1) are perfect substitutes for the MF Strawberry. In my testing I went with 2% each. Together the FA strawberries make a very convincing and realistic strawberry.

Note 2: The strawberry could be removed altogether and another fruit easily subbed. Raspberry (or other berries), Island Mango, Banana, Kiwi, Pineapple, Peach, Nectarine, Oranges, Watermelon would all work. There are more fruits that would work. Combinations of those fruits would also work nicely.

Note 3: Minus fruit it is a yogurt cake base.

    :)

I never got around to buying any MF flavors but your recipe sounds great. I could probably sub with alpine strawberry just to try it to see if I want to buy the MF.

    Happy Thursday, twirlers ;)

We're still heading up in temp and down in precip. One spot did hit record highs yesterday, thankfully not us! Although that's still a possibility by Sunday.

Other than the usual yard work, just a couple tanks to rewick.

I think Alpine would work nicely. I never even thought of trying it with this recipe. MF flavors are a rabbit hole. I'm going to order their vanilla, wild raspberry and maybe watermelon today.

I'm not shy about ordering flavors but $23 is hard to swallow for the strawberry. Also, if you still have to use it at 2% then I may as well just use the alpine. Two drops in a 10ml is plenty.

I bought 4-5 of those expensive flavors at half price a while back. I so far haven't found any I would buy again. I think the regular brands have great enough stuff for us without breaking the bank.

    Excellent article about flavor creation...

This article claims that "about ninety per cent of the money that Americans spend in the supermarket goes toward processed food." That's a big exaggeration. Shame on you, New Yorker. Americans eat badly, but not as badly as that.

I'm second guessing Flavorah due to its price. I'm really wondering if I should try other flavor companies as a back up. I'm not to sure how Flavorah will pan out with its emphasis towards "flavoring for vaping/vapers". I've never had a bad flavor but it's hard to buy it now. Only 3 vendors in the States that claim they have the full offering of the flavors. However, it seems they are always out of stock on the flavors I want.

:) Have you looked at what people put in their grocery carts? And looked at some of those people? I have. 90% of what is in many of their carts I would not eat.

America ranks #1 in the world in sugar and fat consumption.
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-around-the-world-eat-the-most-sugar-and-fat/

Americans consume ~60% processed foods according to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Is the degree of food processing and convenience linked with the nutritional quality of foods purchased by US households?

Personally speaking I would have thought the obesity epidemic in America would have seen more traction than vaping mail bans and future regulations ever would. But I get it, there is billions of dollars to be made on unhealthy people. Also helps to cull the herd. Sad but true.

I have a lot of FLV flavors. As a rule most all of their prices are cheap when comparing the cost of MF flavors. I have only disliked one FLV flavor which was the way too sweet Eisai Tea. It did take me some time to get my stock of FLV flavors together along with back ups.

I'm not sure what's considered to be processed foods. Is the meat that we buy packaged considered to be processed? How about the frozen fruit that I buy for my shakes during the work week? We do buy a lot of fruits and vegetables. I've noticed since both of the kids are gone that the wife really isn't too motivated spend a lot of time on food prep. I try to cook on the weekends but it seems like at least one day on the weekend she wants to eat out. Before we both got the second vaccine, she didn't want to eat in anywhere. Now she doesn't seem to be as bothered by it.

Maybe you should point out to her that the vaccines are not 100% and there is still a chance of getting sick. Maybe that will work.

The sources I found cited 25%. They were old numbers, but from around the time the New Yorker piece was written. They made a mistake.

My son will not eat what I want to eat. I love vegetables and could live off them. Him not so much. It’s a struggle at my house. And I also don’t have a lot of time left (or energy) in my day after working to prepare 100% healthy food and he wouldn’t eat it anyway. If you think about it cheese, milk and bread are all processed foods. I think the USA should consider making the work week shorter and give more off days like other countries. I think most of us stress eat and have no time for healthiness.

When I was eating healthier I had to make two separate meals. It was hard until I started meal prepping for me on Sundays to eat throughout the week. Boring but healthy food like chicken breast, broccoli, and rice, all measured. It was also hard and required planning.

When he leaves I will live off salad and veggies and will probably become vegetarian. I just ate a salad for lunch that was bagged from the grocery that has everything you need. It was probably processed as well but healthier than fast food.

When I was obsessed with health I also tried to eat zero sugar, not even fruit, as I was body building. It’s extremely difficult to find food except raw food that doesn’t have some form of sugar whether natural or added sugar. Look on the labels...sugar is almost unavoidable. It was very difficult to find even protein powder and protein bars, that all body builders use, without sugar.

And most people are not going to do the work it requires to eat healthy.
