For those who've been wondering where Uncle has been:

He'd been ill at home for a few days when I emailed him on June 21st to ask where he was, and how he was doing. On the 23rd he was hospitalized. He called me about 6PM to let me know he was dismissed earlier today and was back home. He said it was OK for me to post here, and on the Tootle Puffer thread, to let people know he still doesn't feel well and had hardly slept while in the hospital. He was going to hopefully hear from his doctor and then get some much needed sleep. Also said he isn't up to posting on ECF yet.

He then added, in typical Uncle fashion.......that he's hoping to be doing much better soon, but if he's not and something much worse happens...that he'll just hang out and "haunt" us on here. ...................
Thanks for the news, JC :)

you know I have the creme de menthe, and have yet to try it out in a recipe... lol... I really need to do that!

Here's a recipe I made up several years ago, that uses it. I named it Mint Chocolate Chip back then...not the ice cream though. I make a 50mL bottle every 3-4 months, just to use in my Minifits. I use them mainly for out and about quick trips and for stealthy vaping. I think people who smell it just think someone's eating a piece of very minty candy. Several people I've taught to DIY and shared the recipe with...call it Andes Candies. 2 regularly make 100mL bottles of it about every 2 months.

All the flavorings are TFA, and as always...everyone's tastes will vary, so preferred % likely will, too.

    Creme de Menthe - 1%
    Vanilla Swirl - 4%
DX Sweet Cream - 2.5% (reg. version works fine, too)
    Milk Chocolate - 1.75%
    Bittersweet Chocolate - 1.25%
    Sweetener (optional) - 2%

ETA: The Creme de Menthe and Milk Chocolate both have ethyl alcohol in them, so I let it evaporate off before vaping it.

So apparently right after I placed my BCF order, I got an in stock notice from them that VT Sweet Cream was now in stock. If I had waited 30 minutes to make my order I could have included it.

I hope you were able to get it added. It is my favorite cream, next to FA's Fresh Cream. Speaking of BCF, it made my day when I found out they had picked up the Purilum line and I will be able to get my favorite Buttermint. I bought as much as I could before River ran out and didn't know what I was going to do. This is my ADV, all day, every day.

    Creamy Butter Mint
    Butter Mint (Purilum) 3.5%
    Sweet Cream (VTA) 1%
Cream Fresh (Panna Fresca) (FA) 1%
Holy Vanilla (DIYFS) 1.5% or use Shisha Vanilla (INW) at the same percentage
    Marshmallow (FA) 1%
    WS-23 30% .50%

With the talk of Creme de Menthe, I am going to mix up a fresh batch of my favorite Crème Chantilly de Menthe which is in @Zazie 's blog. I might do some changing things up because why not? LOL There really isn't a replacement, IMO, for FA Whipped Cream and I am not going to order just one thing from Chef's. I bet a combo of FA Cream Fresh and VTA Sweet Cream would be lovely.

I have been gardening almost non-stop just to keep busy. The plus side is that both my front yard and my back patio are beautiful this year. Houseplants are part of this so I am mixing potting mixes and potting my hands off. I like to feel the soil, so tend to take off my gardening gloves and really dig in. That is tough on my hands and nails but great for my sanity. It is another way to nurture life. It doesn't heal the holes in my heart from the losses of Molly and AJ but it does help keep me sane. I have Molly's little boy, Elijah, 50% of the time and he keeps me running (he is 2 and a half.)

Tell Uncle it's against the rules for something much worse to happen and I expect him right back here as soon as he's better - living and well!

and send him my love... I'm so sorry he's unwell.

TFA Creme De Menthe was one of the first successful mixes I made and the only one I've used without a break since I started.

Nothing complicated. I just mix it at 6% with 2% each of sweet cream and vanilla.

Thank you! that seems easy enough to mix tomorrow! I'll probably do that...

I plan on trying to find some time for mixing as well. I want to find some recipes for flavors I haven't used yet. Cap Cucumber and WF Frozen Yogurt are two things I especially want to try mixing with today. But not in the same recipe, because that would probably be gross.
    Cucumber raita.....:pervy:

    Morning all...

Tried Fran's milkshake base and it's nice... really like milk!! I'm trying to think of which fruit to put in. Don't have any chocolate except white so can't do the obvious. I'm thinking maybe peaches and cream (CAP) but there are so many options...my brain keeps going to strawberry but that's a bit boring

Have a good weekend all and best wishes to Uncle...I hate it when someone's unwell. I hope he recovers fully soon :):nun::wub:

Morning Charlie. I don't see Fran's milkshake base in Zazie's blog. Did she post it recently?

Oh, and you can never go wrong with a strawberry milkshake. I rarely drink shakes, but strawberry is always my first choice.

Now when I try to save edits to the blog, I get an error notification that the message is too long to save. Any word from the tech people on what the heck is going on, @classwife and/or @retired1?

There is a set length on posts that can't be exceeded (I'll have to dig under the hood to see what the exact length is). As for the previous issue, I think we have it figured out. There was a bug with earlier versions of the software which was fixed, and when we did a rebuild on the database some links no longer pointed to the proper posts.

As for the editing on your blog post, you will need to split the post into multiple parts to get under the length limits.

    Hope all's well Red....

    Maybe I'm mistaken and it's not Fran's....hang on I'll have a look!!

This is my version but I'm pretty sure that the OG is Fran's. I tried looking for it via search and I can find reference to it but no recipe...this taste more or less exactly like milk imo....

I might up the percentages a bit as the flavour is light after a two week steep.... @FranC can you help out here....I have no idea where this one came from...my memory :rolleyes:o_O:cry:

Strawberry and raspberry are my go to fruits. Boring, yes but different ones work well. I’m going to try glazed strawberry in the ice cream base.

Good morning. I need to spend some time cleaning and rebuilding a couple Zeus rtas and get pictures taken of the Violet for the review. I’m going to start with one prefilled pod and one refillable one to start after charging both batteries.
