I was taught as a kid not to tilt a turtle or they would pee.

That's interesting...I've never heard that before. The ones I've moved then, must've been "special", or not been quite right. 'Cause I always carry them directly out in front of me, with my arms extended out all the way, tortoise as level as possible, and it never fails...pee starts streaming down and invariably comes back to hit my legs and feet. :w00t:

Maybe that rule only applies to turtles, and not to tortoises?? @Skeebo...any ideas?

Have you tried Cap cup a joe? I have a couple simple recipes that I used it in that I liked and I’m not a big coffee flavor vaper.
No, and to go a step further, wouldn't even know where to start. But, I think I will just stick with my Black Honey and Lemon Meringue. Thank you so much.

I am just trying to put my self in the turtles (or Tortises) place, and if some giant being came along and picked me up, I would piss my self too. :|

The softshell ones are in the pastures sometimes, when they roam from the Peace Creek overflow, especially when we've had lots of rain and some standing water. Had one under my car about 3 years ago, and it definitely didn't like being moved so I could leave to go to my appointment. He/she didn't pee all over though, when I carefully nudged it with a broom.

However...every Gopher Tortoise I stop to help in the middle of the road, by picking it up and moving it off the side of the road aways...manages to pee everywhere, including on me! Not a very nice Thank You, IMO. ;)

That is probably the most feared species in America and it's not because of an aggressive nature either. That species has stopped multi-million dollar construction projects dead in their tracks. It's the most protected species in Florida. If you ever help one don't take pictures and share....even that can get you fined. They are a great species though.

It's a defense mechanism in some species, especially the docile ones. Box turtles, tortoises, etc..

Yep! Quite a few "planned" housing subdivisions, new commercial buildings, etc. in my area have all been stopped dead in their tracks... once Gopher Tortoises were discovered on the property.

For horses and other livestock in their pastures...the burrows they dig are a real hazard. They can get quite deep, and be much longer underground, which isn't apparent when looking at the hole. They can also appear within a day or just overnight...where there were none before. A broken leg or legs can easily be the result of unexpectedly stepping in one...for a horse especially, because of what many weigh.

I knew about cow tipping...and now there's turtle tilting!
I grew up in farm country and we had everyone believing we could tip cows. But, in reality, you can't. Maybe a fake one. But we sure knew how to RUN like crazy from the bulls. I got stuck on electric fences more than once and had to be pried off with a tree branch, as my one cousin tried once to get me off with his hands and got quite a shock, too. I was slow to learn....lol....Always thought I could leap over or crawl under, but when bull is chasing you, you just run!!!!

I may take up turtle tilting, though. Doesn't sound as dangerous, unless I tilt the wrong turtle, which I'm learning is quite possible.

I think it’s @hittman ‘s fault I have too many pv’s going. I’m going to have to make a list as to what’s in each tank because on half I have no idea.

That’s funny because I was just thinking about sending you another one.

I think the purple Kroma A kit was the first pv you gifted me. I’ll been using it everyday since I got it. It’s my designated cheesecake set up.

Or me, I have a round dozen loaded all the time.

    Yup, list. :)

I have a 3x5 card with id'd tanks in ink, juice in pencil. Easy to update that way. And as long as you have a positive id on the tank... :p

I have 14 active right now plus a couple pods. I don’t make notes. I know what’s in each one.

I do really have to do that. About half have been filled with my best guesses and I know I mixing different mixes. I’ve been lucky enough not to have mixed anything yucky tasting……yet.
