I've just been chillin' as I have been all weekend. I think my voice is coming back, but I'm not sure. Since I'm all alone, I haven't been doing any talking, which is a good thing as it gives the vocal cords a rest. The swelling of my neck incision is getting better. I'm pretty sure I had a hematoma, a pocket of blood underneath the incision. They can go away on their own, but if not, the incision has to be opened up and the blood drained out. You don't end up with a nice scar that way. My chest incision is healing up well.

Well, doesn’t look like I’m going to get the lime mixed tonight. Maybe tomorrow. I had to put out the trash for pickup and the dog really wanted a walk. I haven’t been able to take her out much with the heat wave we’ve had. She can’t handle it when it’s hot like that.

Can’t blame the dog for that.

I've been texting with @NolaMel. They are ok. Sounds like it's pretty bad. Power has been out for some time. The Entergy power transmission tower fell in the Mississippi river. Catastrophic transmission damage. All of NOLA is without power.

As you can imagine Mel's cell reception is spotty.

Anyone who is interested nola.com | NOLA.com | New Orleans News, Sports and Entertainment has all the latest up-to-date info. 22 barges also got knocked loose on the Mississippi.

Earlier today it was bad enough that the flow of the Mississippi river reversed flow. That's historic.

Everyone was worried about you. I knew you were fine because I can tell your core strength is adequate for canoe rides. Even if these canoe rides are under the moonlight... and you are squonking like an 18 year old.

Core strength is pretty darn good for 61. No gut, no flab... lolz. Had Carli dog out on the lake the other day, a dumb duck landed near us, Carli promptly jumped out. Don't know what she was thinking but she nearly tipped the canoe. She swam after the dumb duck. Like she was ever gonna catch it.

Ok it’s time I got off my azz and start mixing again!

Do you know that it’s been nearly 2 whole years since I shattered my hip after my little guy Levi a yorkie and my BEST friend passed away.

And it’s been that long since I’ve mixed any juice. I’m not sure what happened other than the very slow recovery I had due to scar tissue and at least in of the screws backing out as the bone was healing. It’s still very painful and difficult to sleep through the night without waking up in pain around 3:30 to 4:00 am. It sucks.

Fortunately my 7 or 8 liters of nicotine is stored in the freezer. The flavors are all stored either in the fresh food drawers in the refrigerator or in their plastic cases in a “cool” part of the house.

So instead of beating myself up and feeling overwhelmed I’m going to take my time and plan on making at the most 3 to 4 bottles of my favorite recipes. When that’s complete I’ll feel positive that I accomplished something that I actually enjoy. Again I’m not entirely sure why this lack of motivation or energy but the longer it goes on the more down I feel about myself.

Sorry I’m meandering for some reason.

Anyways that’s my plan but before I can ever begin to start mixing I need to clear off my “dedicated lab work” lol!! It’s piled high without STUFF. That may have been my biggest obstacle!!

I’m planning to make @charlie1465 ‘s cheesecake recipe. I have it copied but I never got around to mixing it. I’m eagerly awaiting the results of it after the appropriate steeping time.

So please wish me luck that I get my excitement bug back !!!!

You should try his raspberry custard too. It’s really good.
