That would give lots of time to do your homework but would they give her a definite place?

Yes, she has a choice of where we would live permanently. Her career is still on an upward trajectory, so I have a feeling this won't be our last stop.

I’m glad she’s doing so well. I sure hope you like moving more than I do. I hate it.

Yeah but if she works in Seattle, the drive would do her in. Bumper to bumper traffic, accidents always. It once took me 3 hours to go 5 miles due to an overturned oil tanker on I-5.

Areas like Roy and Graham are cheaper but way out there. My dd is the one who wants to move back there. I don't cause I know we can't afford it and she makes good money as a data programmer/analyst.

What field is your wife in, if you don't mind me asking?

She has one degree, a masters in chemical engineering and originally worked for Glaxosmithkline when we got together 21 years ago. She also has a masters in business administration, along with a bachelors degree in some kind of web design/e-commerce thingy. Here for the last 10 years she has helped corporations setup for E-commerce. I don't know what it's called really because her title changes constantly. I should be ashamed, but in my defense, I am just some dude that worked with pumps most of my life.

Well, with those degrees, Seattle is the place to be.

Of course, have one of the highest serial murderer areas which is a bummer. I remember working in Kent during the time the Green River killer was arrested. The streets were constantly closed near my office as that was one of his dumping grounds and they were looking for bodies. So sad. I worked about 2 miles from the 'strip'.

    Somewhere between here and there
We’ve lived in the same house we bought new 21 years ago. I can’t even imagine moving. Several years ago I got an offer from GM and would have had to move to Detroit. It didn’t make sense. I already lived in KC but they wanted me to move to Detroit and fly back and forth to KC. Heck, I’d need a moving truck just for the vape stuff.

I went out earlier and mowed just to get the leaves off the lawn and cut a board to replace the one under our back door that’s rotted. The dogs tie off for her lead in the back yard broke so I have to go to the store later and get a new one. I tied it to a deck post for now.

I've been working like a dog today, don't know where that expression comes from since dogs mostly just lie around waiting to be fed or walked. Anyway

We are doing early thanksgiving on Monday, GS is a Marine and we have to fit in with his leave. Wife will be cooking and I clean the house up. She went shopping yesterday and really had to hunt around to get what she needed. Lots of empty shelves. I went looking for frozen turkeys a couple of weeks ago and nobody had them. I finally managed to order one from Fresh Thyme. They come chilled at 30 degrees so I'm picking it up tomorrow.

I have a feeling it won't be fun shopping right before thanksgiving. Apart from the shortages there will be a lot of frustrated angry people racing around the shops. Glad we are doing it early.

I’m hoping Dd doesn’t want to shop too close to Thanksgiving.

My advice is do it early and have a backup plan in case you can't find a turkey. Apparently it's even worse in the UK. Another Brexit glitch. A lot of the staff at places that prepare turkeys were seasonal workers from eastern Europe and they aren't allowed in any more. Some have closed down, others are working short shifts. Not sure what's behind the shortage in the US.
