Skeebo, please tell your wife that it is a somewhat common practice when senior/high level person gives their notice. I have to wear the HR hat some days. It sounds like she is in that type of position. While she is trustworthy and honorable, the company still decides to pay someone for their notice period to avoid any risk. One software company I worked for did that when a top programmer gave his notice. He was an awesome guy, who really wanted to work during the transition and share what he knew before he left, but the company paid his 30 day's notice instead, and yes, they had to cover his
insurance during that period.
Lovely day here, it was 54 deg. driving to work, and it might hit 60. Happy December, I'll take this over shoveling snow (which may arrive this weekend).
