My brother in law just got Covid. He's a video guy with a local news station and they sent him to a large event where masks were optional, which being Indiana meant not many people were wearing them. He had all the shots and he is resting at home and OK so far. But he has severe Crohn's. Apparently that's a major risk factor with Covid so they have put him on the list for an infusion. Only one of the infusions works for omicron and there's a long waiting list.

And yesterday I heard a woman on my block caught it. I only met her a couple of times but her husband is a friend. She has advanced diabetes, lost most of her toes and can barely walk. Hasn't left the house for 2 years. So far they are trying to keep her at home. They send a nurse round every day. They are desperate to keep people out of hospital, pretty much unless you will die without it. Non-emergency surgery has been cancelled and the Guard has been helping out for months. We have one of the lowest vacc rates and the hospital system is close to collapse.

Apart from that I know several people who have been hit. All minor symptoms. But if you are old or sick it's not good news.
I have been researching the vaccine a lot since I caught it myself. My doc told me a year ago not to take it. But from what I have learnd from research , not the media, it seems to be at best it might work sometimes.

It's working in the rehab I work at. 99% of infections are those patients refusing the vaccine. Most of them are already compromised by their many ailments. The infected ones who have had the vaccine are sick but they survive. The point of the vaccine is to build immunity and to be able to live though the process. No vaccine is a cure all for anything.

P.S. The infected (covid +/non vaccinated) most of them die or we send back to the hospital next door.

Yes, I'm half German. My father was one of the few non Germans in town. I don't speak the the language though. My great great grandfather forbid it. He said that they were in America now, they would speak English. At one point not too long ago, school here was taught in German. During WW2, they had a German prisoner of war camp near here, and the farmers would use the prisoners for farm labor because they could communicate with them in German.

It’s 30’s here today. The snow is melting a little. I think the roads should be decent for the drive to work in the morning. The next two days are 40-50 so we should be in good shape.

My youngest and the puppy left a little bit ago. I took a deep breath after they left. He just wears me out.

Exactly. My wife laid down and the dog is sleeping. I finished watching the Eternals movie that I had to stop once my daughter and the dog woke up. I just couldn’t hear it or enjoy it with him running around.

I can’t tell you how enjoyable the peace and quiet are right now. I finished writing another review while my wife was resting. I’ll get it posted later.

I did finally put the croissant base in a sub tank and am liking it. I only tried it mtl before. It was a little plain so I added some Lulo and custard base I had already mixed. It’s better with a little fruit flavor in a sub tank.

Speaking of Covid…I’m so over it. Nobody cares in my office. I’m tired of this entire thing. I ended up with a sore throat for the last two days and I’ve slept more in the last two days than I have in a long time. I have no idea if it’s Covid and since I have no more symptoms and I’m over it I doubt I get tested. Most people at work have had it or currently have it.

No snow here. I’m kinda glad. Although since we have a holiday tomorrow I could have enjoyed it without having to drive in it. Just a cold rain.
