I did remember to leave a damn comment.
That comment box is so small I've always missed it. This time I was determined not to do so and they got a very nice little note.
Rude left the post here but I wouldn't let her on BCF.Was it you or Rude who left the comment?
Never mind, you say it was nice, so it couldn't have been Rude.
you are definitely in the booniesThey may. I'm two-and-a-half hours away northeast of there.
Yes, it is their newest chocolate flavor. I bought it last May shortly after it was released.Anyone know if the VT Swiss Chocolate is anything fairly new? I couldn't remember seeing it before.
Cool. They make good chocolate. Love the mousse.Yes, it is their newest chocolate flavor. I bought it last May shortly after it was released.
Good to know. ThanksI used VTA Swiss Chocolate in your ice cream base along with chocolate mousse. IIRC, chocolate mousse was at 2% and then added 0.75% swiss. The swiss further enhanced the overall chocolate profile.
Also had a simple cake mix that I then added both chocolates to in the same way. Percents may have been different in that one.
In both mixes I was pleased with how the two chocolates worked together.
I think VTA did a great job with all their chocolates. I'm pretty sure I have them all.
@hittman @ShowMeTwiceCould someone explain the proper way to drip? Let's say I have dripped some of a cake flavor and I want to see how a fruit goes with it. Do I just add a drop from the flavor bottle or?
My mornings always start with dripping high nic flavorless in an RDA on a mech. I completely saturate the wick and vape away.Could someone explain the proper way to drip? So you can drip a little right from a flavor bottle? My mornings always start with dripping high nic flavorless in an RDA on a mech. I completely saturate the wick and vape away.
You want your wick well saturated with juice.
As to your question about dripping with 2-3 different flavors or mixes:
I usually add a good amount of a base flavor first until a fresh wick is nearly saturated. Then, yes, start lightly with the second flavor or mix. I'll add 3-4 drops of the second mix to start with and adjust the amounts from there.
Once I get a feel for how they work together I tweak how much of each gets added until I'm satisfied. If the 2 mixes work well together then I write up a recipe. Based off of how much of each got added gives me a good feel for how to write the new recipe.
In between each tweaking I will vape the wick until it's just about dry. You will know when to add more. Once the wick is nearly dry you will start to notice less and less vapor. As you already know, go further and yucky dry hit.![]()
Yes, that's a better description. The flavor I'm going to drip as main will be the Custard Cake when steeped.@FranC, I've also saturated the hell out of a wick with the first mix am always able to add several drops of a second flavor/mix directly on the coil.
Each time, or go around, I always drip the second flavor directly on the middle of the coil. It will then spread itself out across the wick.
Make sense?
I've never been a dripper. I have tried in the past. Maybe if I get the hang of it I'll like it more. Kinda doubt it but who knows. Never been a squonker either, something along the same lines.I really don’t drip much. I agree with SMT. Saturate the coil with the base flavor then drip a couple drops of the fruit or whatever right on the coil. I wouldn’t drip straight flavoring. At least I never have. I always have dripped with mixes.
Good thought. You could. But that will get tricky. So you can drip a little right from a flavor bottle?
The collapse of the herring fishery killed the town. There used to be a couple dozen sardine-packing plants here. Now there are none (the last one--right next door to me--closed in 2001). The town was already depressed then, but things go worse quickly after that. That’s sad. Small cities are getting gutted by the big box stores. It’s hard to draw people back to shop small business sadly
