Uncle has given me leave to give you all an update on his circumstances. They ain't great. He had a bad time recovering from the transesophageal echocardiogram that was performed instead of the ablation he anticipated. Then the Saharan dust that has made its way to Florida wreaked havoc with his lungs, and he is now on oxygen 24/7. His diabetes is not being controlled adequately. And it looks as though he's going to have to go on dialysis soon. All in all, a very crappy time.

If he were writing this post, he'd probably try to keep things light and throw in a joke or two, but I am not he. It just plain sucks. Still, he's tough and blessed with a great attitude and says he'll be posting again soon. Here's hoping.

Poor guy....that's horrible. I was on oxygen for six months and it was not fun!!

I made burgers tonight and Grandma made fried eggs so the grandkid and I had burgers with egg. They were awesome! Try it if you haven't!

Sounds lovely having the grandkids over more....the healing power of shear innocent joy!! I do have the odd burger....we homemake them and I don't see why an egg wouldn't be delicious.....mind you since the cancer I'm avoiding things like that, especially with the GERD, but I'll keep it in mind.

Sorry that I've been absent. I've been missing you all and feel guilty about not popping in. Life has been the same old, same old but all good here and enjoying the summer. Took down the old awning fabric and have ordered some more but it's taking an age to be made in the factory and when you reach July and August in France you're in trouble. Mind you on the plus side I'm dreading fitting the new one.
